[ CONTINUING ]

Sonic stared at the Echidna, smiling smugly as he chuckled.

"Gee.. you're quite the weakling nowadays.. aren't you?"

He mumbled, getting a pissed off glare from Knuckles.

"What did you say about me?!"

Knuckles pulled him close by the ear, which.. didn't do much to Sonic. Other than really just.. chuckling softly.

Unexpectedly, he gave him a little peck, then nudged him away with the hammer.

"You're weak and gullible. That's what I'm trying to say."

Sonic spun the hammer around, soon leaning onto it.

"Say.. how about a finale dance before one of us goes?"

A glint of mischief appeared sparkled Sonic's eyes as he smiled. Backing up as Knuckles went in his defensive stance.

And there it happened. The fight.

Yet.. during it, Sonic fell back, dropping his hammer.

"Oof-.."

He looked up at Knuckles, glaring as the two of them looked at it. Soon enough racing for it. Which.. surprise surprise, Knuckles got it first. And why? Sonic slipped.

".. shi-"

He looked up at the echidna, standing up as he backed away. Chuckling.

"Come on.. we don't have to do this you know!"

Sonic tried to convince him, seeing the glare intensify.

".. is this how you want to be known as? Someone who killed.. a hero?"

That made Knuckles pause for a second, looking at the hammer. Then up to Sonic.

"This isn't what THEY would've wanted.. they wanted you to protect the Master Emerald. HE wanted you to represent the tribe."

Sonic took a step forward. A smug smile playing on his lips. Causing the echidna to back up.

"Come on.. why don't you give me the hammer.. and let me end it all for you? Wouldn't that be a nice favor..? To end your pain?"

The words coming from the hedgehog shocked Knuckles. Dropping the hammer as when Sonic was to then pick it up, he was out of sight.

".. oh. Depressing how you didn't fight back.."

He chuckled.

"This is gonna continue everytime it restarts.. won't it?"

Before Sonic could've leaned back onto the hammer, he received a call from Tails.

"Oh?"

He answered it.

"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?"

Well that certainly was a surprise coming from the fox..

".. don't know actually. Still at the place where you left me. Why?"

"Oh that's all I wanted to know. Okay-.. bye!"

Tails then hung up.

".. what the fu-..?"

Sonic muttered to himself as he rolled his eyes, then dashing off.

[ Shadow's POV ]
He stood nervously in the living room, as then Tails pushed him gently onto the couch. Sighing.

"Rest you stupid idiot! You look like you BARELY ever even slept!"

Shadow stayed silent after Tails spoke, nodding as he looked around, anxious.

Tails soon left the room, leaving Shadow with a train of thoughts.

"Why am I here..? Why did this happen..? WHO AM I?"

He shoved his face into a pillow, his ears drooping. Yeeet.. he soon fell asleep cuz.. how else do I end the chapter?
