A hot shower, body scrub and half an hour of contemplating on what to wear later, I was finally ready to face him after so many weeks.

I still couldn't believe, he went over 3 weeks without seeing me, it was ridiculous.

Maybe it was the fact that he saw me at the club the other day. He saw how I didn't care. Maybe that's why he texted me. Maybe that's why he wants to get back together.

I glanced and the clock and realized I was late. I rushed out, locking the apartment behind me before taking the elevator.

The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the trees and the grass. The park was only five minutes walk from my apartment.

I could see the park from this distance. It was just a small patch of green in the midst of the bustling city, but it was a place where time seemed to slow down. The trees swayed gently in the breeze, casting long shadows on the ground.

The park was quiet. Not a single person in sight. I leaned against the wrought-iron fence that surrounded the park, watching the shadows dance across the grass. The air was cool and still, and the only sound was the rustling of the leaves overhead.

I closed my eyes and breathed in deeply, trying to calm my racing thoughts. I had been looking forward to this moment for weeks, but now that it was here, I felt uncertain and afraid.

What if he didn't want to get back together? What if he had changed his mind?

I opened my eyes and looked around the park again, half-hoping to see him walking towards me. But the park remained empty, save for the occasional bird hopping from branch to branch.

I checked my phone for the hundredth time, but there were no new messages. With a sigh, I pushed myself away from the fence and started walking towards the center of the park.

Maybe he was just running late. Maybe he had gotten caught up at work or studies?

I tapped my feet on the grass, my patience getting the better of me.

"Lookie here. The whore finally decided to show up," a familiar voice said from behind me.

I spun around, my heart racing, and saw him leaning against a tree, his arms crossed over his chest.

"I'm not a whore," I snapped, feeling a mix of anger and relief at the sight of him.

He chuckled, pushing himself away from the tree and walking towards me. "Oh, I know. But it's fun to tease you."

"Well, it's not funny," I muttered, taking a step closer to him.

He stopped in front of me, his eyes searching mine. "So, you came."

"Of course I did."

A small smile played at his lips as he took a step closer. His hand coming up to lightly brush against my cheeks. My face heated up.

"I can't believe you showed up." He murmured, leaning in closer.

"Why wouldn't I?" I whispered as I felt his breath on my cheek.

"Because," he said softly, his lips now mere inches from mine, "I wasn't sure if you still felt the same way."

I closed my eyes, inhaling his familiar scent. "I do," I admitted, my voice barely a whisper. "I still care about you, even though you disappeared for weeks."

"Do you wanna come over my place tonight?" He breathed, his lips hovering over mine.

"Did you break up with her yet?"

"Who?" He surprised me by asking.

I slightly pulled away, "Bella, who else?"

His arm came up my shoulder, "She doesn't has to know about us."

A wave of disappointment washed over me as I realized that nothing had changed. He was still with Bella, and he expected me to be his secret.

"I can't do this," I whispered, shaking my head. "I can't be your secret. It's not fair to me."

He dropped his arm, a look of frustration crossing his face. "But I thought you cared about me."

"I do care about you," I said, stepping away from him.

"Just be with me. Isn't that enough?" He pleaded, his eyes searching mine.

"But-"

"Ava." He cut me off, stepping closer once again, his hands reaching out to hold mine, "It's now or never. I hope I see you tonight. My place." He said and stepped away, never looking back as he walked away.

My mind was racing as I stood there, watching him walk away. His final words echoed in my head, filling me with confusion and uncertainty.

It was now or never? What did that even mean? Was he giving me an ultimatum?
