Jungkook was totally frozen. "You what?" he asked, totally shocked.

Jennie looked down, her voice shaky. "Yeah, I love him so much it hurts. What do I do, Jungkook?" Jungkook's heart felt like it was breaking into a million pieces with every word she said.

Anger started to bubble up inside him.

"Can you help me, Jungkook? Sorry, I know I'm bothering you, but I don't have anyone else. I can't lose him." Jennie pleaded, her voice almost begging.

"Please."

"Don't be like this, Jennie. Look, maybe he's not into you. I'm sorry, it's a bit harsh, but I know Taehyung. If he ignores someone, it means he's not interested." Jungkook said gently, trying to keep his cool.

"W-what? But he promised me. He can't do that." Jennie's voice cracked.

Jungkook took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "No, Jennie, don't kid yourself. He doesn't like you, he never did. Why don't you get it?"

Jennie pulled her hand away from Jungkook, angry.

"Why don't you understand me? Huh? I love him, you get it. I love him, and I can't lose him. I will die-."

Jungkook lost it.

"Don't you dare finish that word, Jennie! HE DOESN'T LOVE YOU. Why don't you understand? That's enough!" Jungkook yelled, making Jennie flinch.

She stared at him, tears rolling down her cheeks. Their outburst had drawn attention from people in the restaurant.

Seeing her upset, Jungkook regretted yelling at her.

He didn't want to make her sad, but he couldn't stand hearing her say she loved Taehyung. No way, that could never happen.

He wouldn't let it happen.

Jennie wiped her tears. "Jennie, I'm sorr-." Before he could finish, Jennie got up and left the restaurant.

"Oh no, I messed up," he cursed himself under his breath. After paying, he got up and ran after her.

He caught up to her and grabbed her hand, but she yanked it away.

"Jennie, please, you know I didn't mean to upset you." Jungkook said.

Jennie looked at him and sighed. She was clearly upset. "Yeah, I know, Jungkook, but excuse me. I need some time alone." She said coldly and walked away.

Jungkook stood there for a while, staring at nothing.

"Kim Taehyung!" He gritted his teeth. Then he headed to his office.

Without thinking, he barged in, making Taehyung to flinch.

"Jungkook, wha-." Before Taehyung could say anything, Jungkook walked over to him and yanked him up by his suit collar.

The sudden action shocked Taehyung.

"You! You betrayed me! Why, Taehyung? How could you do this to your only soulmate?" Jungkook exclaimed. Taehyung snapped out of his shock and replied,

"What are you talking about?"

"Please, don't act like innocent, taehyung" Jungkook spoke up.

"What do you mean-"

"Just listen! You knew she had feelings for you, didn't you?" Jungkook replied, releasing his grip on Taehyung's collar but still standing firm.

"What?" Taehyung was on the verge of asking who Jungkook was referring to when he suddenly recalled Jennie's confession.

"It was not that serious, Jungkook," he said.

"So you knew, yet you're still with her? How is that possible? Taehyung!"

Jungkook exclaimed. Taehyung tried to keep his composure, responding calmly,

"But she has feelings for you, not me!"

Jungkook laughed bitterly. "Really? Who are you trying to fool, Taehyung? Jennie loves you...it's you she cares about, not me!" he shouted.

This was the first time he and Taehyung had ever argued so intensely.

"What? You must be mistaken, Jungkook. She loves you because she believes I'm the one she was talking to," Taehyung stated matter-of-factly.

Jungkook shook his head with an unreadable expression. "Yeah, I thought that too-until just a minute ago when she confessed to me that she loves you, not me. You know what the funniest part is?" Jungkook smirked.

"She wants me to help her win you over. She said she couldn't bear to lose you and that she loves you so much it hurts her because you're acting like a jerk," Jungkook said, laughing in anger.

Taehyung was at a loss for words. Before he could think of something to say, Jungkook continued, "Stay away from Jennie, Taehyung, unless you're okay with losing me for good." He said this calmly as he took a seat in his chair.

Taehyung froze in place, unable to believe that Jungkook was saying this to him. "Did you really say that, Jungkook?" Taehyung asked in disbelief.

Jungkook gazed back at him as Taehyung continued.

"How can you blame everything on me? You're the one who wanted me to act like you. I told you to tell her before things got this bad, didn't I? But you chose to keep lying to her, and now that everything has fallen apart, you're putting the blame on me?" Taehyung shouted, filled with anger and disbelief.

Jungkook was taken aback by Taehyung's sudden outburst.

Taehyung had never raised his voice at him before.

"I'm not blaming you for anything. I dragged you into this mess myself, but now I'm kindly asking you to back off, Taehyung," Jungkook said, his voice tinged with desperation.

Taehyung couldn't believe that this was the Jungkook he had known from high school.

The Jungkook who had always been kind and understanding now appeared distant and guarded.

He nodded, not wanting to prolong the conversation and make things worse.

"Okay," he whispered, his voice barely above a whisper.

He felt suffocated by the air in the office and needed to clear his mind. So, he left the office, leaving Jungkook alone with his thoughts.

Jungkook sighed deeply, feeling heavy with his emotions. He realized he shouldn't have said what he did to Taehyung.

He couldn't help but be a bit selfish.

This was the first time he felt such strong emotions that took over him. It was a feeling he had never had before, one that made him feel truly alive.

He understood that this didn't justify his selfishness, but he didn't want to lose this beautiful feeling.

He didn't want to lose Jennie.

Jennie made him feel alive; she was beautiful inside and out, and he couldn't bear to lose her to anyone. Not even to Taehyung, his soulmate.

"I can't lose Jennie taehyung, not even for you, and I'll make sure of it." Jungkook thought.

The idea of losing her to anyone filled him with fear and anger. He needed to figure out how to fix things and handle this tricky situation without hurting anyone.
