The classroom buzzed with the usual post-assignment relief, students chatting and laughing as they packed up their things. Taehyung sat stiffly at his desk, eyes glued to the front, but he couldn't focus. Ivy was right beside him, as always. For days, he had been trying to put some distance between them, but she seemed to sense his every attempt and countered it effortlessly.

"Hey, Tae," Ivy chirped, nudging his arm lightly. Her voice was bright, casual, but Taehyung could feel the tension in the air. "Wanna grab lunch after this? I'm starving."

Taehyung tensed, his fingers gripping the edge of his desk. "I've got plans," he muttered, avoiding her gaze. He could feel the weight of her stare, the unspoken question lingering in the air. Why was he doing this? It wasn't like him to brush her off, but he needed space-space to figure out why being around her felt so different now.

Ivy leaned closer, her presence impossible to ignore. "Plans, huh?" she teased, a smirk playing on her lips. "Since when are you too busy for me? Come on, you're not getting rid of me that easily."

Taehyung clenched his jaw, feeling the heat ris
e in his chest. She wasn't making this easy. No matter how much he tried to pull away, Ivy always found a way to close the gap. " I need... some time alone, okay?" he finally said, his voice tight with frustration.

...

Ivy pushed her tray away, barely touching her food, the lingering tension from Taehyung's cold brush-off still gnawing at her. Sofia, sensing her mood, tried to lighten the atmosphere with some gossip about their classmates, but Ivy's thoughts kept drifting back to him. Something was off today, and she couldn't shake the feeling.

As they walked across the university campus, Sofia suddenly tugged at Ivy's sleeve, her eyes wide. "Ivy, isn't that Taehyung?" she asked, pointing ahead. Ivy's gaze snapped in the direction Sofia was pointing, her heart skipping a beat. There he was, but he wasn't alone. Taehyung was walking with a girl, someone Ivy didn't recognize. And then, as if to confirm her worst thoughts, he left with her.

Ivy's stomach twisted, her chest tightening with an unfamiliar heat. Jealousy. He had told her he needed to be alone, and yet here he was, with someone else. "He said he needs to be alone! This was the reason, huh?" Ivy's voice dripped with anger, her fists clenching by her sides.

Sofia noticed the shift in Ivy's demeanor and tried to calm her down. "Maybe she's just a friend, Ivy. It's probably nothing." But the look in Ivy's eyes said otherwise. She wasn't convinced. "Friend, my foot," Ivy muttered, storming off in the opposite direction, her head spinning with frustration.

Sofia quickly ran after her, calling out, "Ivy, wait! Where are you going?" Ivy's pace didn't falter as she snapped back, "I'm going home." She couldn't stand being anywhere near the campus right now, especially knowing Taehyung had lied to her.
