Scene opens on a storm, where a boat full of fish pulls up next to a jetty.
Fisherman: Ugh! Quickly! Help me unload! I need to get back out there!
The Fisherman throws a rope to the Docks Man. He catches it and tries to keep the boat steady.
Docks Man: Are you crazy? You can't go back out there! That storm—
The fisherman jumps onto the jetty and grabs another rope to pull the boat in.
Fisherman: Forget the storm, something's happening! The sea is full of fish!
Docks Man: The sea is always full of fish!
Fisherman: No, no, it's like every fish in the ocean is... is right out there!
Docks Man: Look out!
A wave of water rises high above the boat, two green eyes glowing in it. The wave snarls and crashes down on the docks. When the water level lowers again, the Fisherman and docks man are grabbing onto a post each. They pull themselves up.
Docks Man: (coughs) did you see...
Fisherman: My... my boat! Where's my boat?
A large bite has been taken out of the jetty, between the two fishermen.
Docks Man: It was huge!
Fisherman: No! My boat!
Intro.
Scene opens in the Moonpool room of the Aronnax. Fontaine is walking towards Ant, who is kneeling at the water's edge with a fishbowl.
Fontaine: Ant, what are you doing?
Ant: I'm training him.
Fontaine: You're training a fish?
Ant: Yep.
Fontaine: To do what?
Ant: To fetch.
Fontaine: You're training your fish to fetch.
Ant: Yep.
Fontaine: You're deluded.
Ant: it could be very useful.
Fontaine: How, Ant?
Ant: It...
Fontaine: How?
Ant: I'm not sure yet, Fontaine. But once I've trained him, I'm sure I'll find all sorts of practical applications!
Fontaine: A fish has, like, a three second memory. So in the highly unlikely event that you manage to train the fish, it'll forget what it's learnt straight away.
Ant: That's not true! You know it's not true! Have faith in my fish.
Fontaine: You are deluded.
Ant: Huh, I'll prove it! Get into the Moonpool.
Fontaine: I'm gonna humor you, but I'm also gonna mock you when this doesn't work.
Fontaine dives into the Moonpool. When she resurfaces, Ant throws a glow stick to her. She catches it. Ant grabs the fishbowl and tilts it towards the Moonpool.
Ant: Alright. Here's our chance, Jeffrey!
Jeffrey jumps into the Moonpool.
Fontaine: You named your fish Jeffrey?
