It was a normal evening for Lucy she lay on the sofa cuddled up under a blanket drinking coffee and eating popcorn whilst watching a film she loved watching films as she lay on the sofa the movie ended she cleaned away her stuff before going to sleep on her bed.
The next morning she woke up and got ready for work patrol was good Lucy was riding with Angela they got a call about a mum dad and daughter being held hostage they died to the scene only to find the parents dead they had been shot repeatedly.
The little girl wasn't there then whilst searching the scene Lucy spotted a business card to a store they rushed there.
They cleared the store finding two men then Lucy went to the freezer room it was cold going near it Lucy opened the door immediately seeing a little girl lay on the floor her little face and body limp and freezing her lips turning a cool shade of blue her hair only going down to her back.
Lucy quickly screamed for help Angela ran in quickly with a blanket handing it to Lucy.
Lucy rushed in cradling the small cold body in her arms she couldn't be more than three which made Lucy sad Lucy ran out to the car Angela and Lucy stripped down to one later locking the car and turning on the heating two hours passed the little girls body had went more coloured her lips no longer blue her body now warm Lucy moved the girls hair out of her face as her eyes opened
Ta-I want mummy and daddy she cried as tears dripped down her cheek Lucy held the little girl closer
L-sweetheart your mummy and daddy are gone
The little girl cried more
L-do you know what that means little one she asked
Tamara nodded
Ta-they go up in the sky they tell me if they die they go to a place called heaven
L-yes that's right your very smart how old are you
Ta-me three she said holding up three little fingers
L-do you know your name
Ta-ta-tam-Tamara she said struggling to pronounce it
L-Tamara? Lucy asked
Ta-yes that's my name! The little girl said happily
L-that's a very pretty name Lucy kept talking to the girl as they drove to the hospital they was taken to a room to get Tamara checked out Lucy went to place Tamara on the bed but Tamara clung tightly onto Lucy
Ta-no don't put me down I stay
L-it's okay I'm not going anywhere I'm just going to put you on the bed okay
Ta-no don't let go she cried holding tighter onto Lucy
L-okay okay how about I just set you on the bed and still hold you
Ta-you get in bed with me Lucy?
She asked her small voice quiet and so innocent Lucy couldn't say no she lay in the bed Tamara got looked at then the doctor went to put a needle in her arm but Tamara got scared and rolled into Lucy's side burying her face in Lucy's chest
Ta-no they hurt she said looking at the needle
L-they only do a little pinch then it gives you get well soon magic to make sure your not sick
Ta-ooh I want to be magic she said rolling back over the doctor wiped her arm and put in the needle
Ta-ouchie Tamara said looking at her arm
L-it's okay it's just one small pinch okay
Ta-it done now she asked sadly
L-not yet sweetheart just two more minutes the doctor finished and left Lucy took tamara to the station to speak to grey about what to do with Tamara.
An hour later a social worker arrived and went to to take Tamara from Lucy but Tamara started to cure holding tightly onto Lucy
Social Worker-Tamara you need to come with me okay little one
Ta-no I want to stay with Lucy she said tears starting to put down her face half an hour later Lucy said she would take Tamara home and be her mum seeing how bad the little girl wanted her an hour later she had signed all the paperwork she was now a mum she had told Angela as-well she was happy for Lucy she got in the drivers seat and went to a store with Lucy as she took Tamara in and got everything she dropped Lucy home lucy entered her house and lay with Tamara in the guest room on the bed before carefully slipping out of the bed and cleaning the house then she started to decorate the guest room to be Tamara's room
She finished and then set a few toys and books around the room before putting five stuffed animals on the bed she turned on the night lamp she had gotten for Tamara and shut the door sitting on the sofa she had just finished a film when she heard crying from Tamara's room she opened the door and saw Tamara lying on the floor crying holding the giraffe teddy Lucy had gotten her
L-hey what's wrong tam
Ta-I couldn't reach the door handle she said sniffing Lucy picked her up placing her in her hip wiping away her tears
L-it's okay I'll leave the door open next time okay
Tamara smiled at Lucy
Ta-okay Lucy I'm hungry
L-what should we get for tea
Ta-cheesy pasta she said happily a bright smile appearing on her face
Lucy took Tamara to the kitchen placing her on the counter she made the pasta and they ate it then Lucy tucked Tamara into bed before going to her own room she lay in her bed she left Tamara's door open as-well she lay in her bed when she heard little footsteps coming towards her room
Ta-Lucy can I sleep in here pwease Tamara asked as she pushed the door open rubbing her eyes
L-of course you can Lucy put Tamara on the bed and waited until she fell asleep to sleep herself the next morning she woke up and made some pancakes giving them to Tamara before cleaning away her mess and some of the toys from Tamara she got Tamara dressed they sat on the sofa watching a film Tamara was laughing at the film the film stopped and Tamara was still laughing so Lucy tickled her causing her to laugh even more a few years passed Tamara was now 5 and Lucy had a boyfriend she had been dating him for 2 months and he was starting to get easily frustrated with Lucy one night he came in drunk he started to hit Lucy Lucy was begging him to stop Tamara heard her mum crying and came out to see Ryan(Lucy's Boyfriend) hitting Lucy
Ta-mummy Tamara shouted scared as she ran towards her she hugged Lucy tightly
L-hey it's okay I'm okay okay tam
Ta-but mummy he hurt you
L-it was an accident baby he didn't mean to
Ta-but he did he was hurting you mummy
L-it's okay I promise just an accident
Ta-mummy don't lie
R-your mum isn't lying
Ta-yes mummy is you hurt her
R-SHUT UP RIGHT NOW KID
L-Ryan don't yell at her
R-fine I'm leaving I'll be back later.
