A mother always wanted the best for her child. Akanksha was no different. All she wanted was for Arnav to have a happy childhood. The decision to stay away from the Rajwanshi family was personal. The relationship she shared with Maan was complicated. They never got married officially. The day he proposed, he gave her his mothers ring, and promised her a lifetime of love and loyalty.

Under the starlit sky, with the blessing of the five elements, they exchanged vows, taking each other as husband and wife. They became one in love. Abhimaan promised to take her back home as his bride, but he never came back. She could have gone home as his widow, but she did not have the courage to face the family as the mother of his unborn child.

Abhimaan always insisted that his family would accept their relationship with an open heart, but after losing him, she lost a major part of herself. The shock almost resulted in a miscarriage. Her mother rushed her to a hospital. The major part of her pregnancy was confined to the hospital. She did not remember much of that year, the pain of losing Abhimaan numbed her to everything else.

Three months after Arnav's birth her mother encouraged her to meet Abhimaan's family, only to be told by her superior that all members of Team phoenix were at risk. She was instructed to go underground, until the issue was resolved. There was data breach on the central level, the government feared that the identity of the entire team was compromised. Most of the people who worked under her command had lost their lives in the blast. The others she had lost touch with, but she was told that all other officers and their families were relocated for safety.

For her safety and the safety of the Rajwanshis she stayed in hiding. For four years she lived in Mauritius with a distant cousin. The thought of going back home crossed her mind, but she could not risk her son. As Arnav grew up, she realized that the boy had only her. Her fear shackled her. She would have stayed away forever, but then the attacks on Arjun started. For two years the family was attacked mercilessly. She was forced to stay back and watch from the sidelines.
