She broke from her thoughts to remind herself of something. That when she had visited the beach, she'd briefly thought something. She'd wanted to make a routine of going there. It was tranquil.
She pulled her bag up to her shoulder again. She followed the route she took yesterday, down the path, over the fence, but this time she didn't swing by the river.
She arrived at the beach again. This time, it was dusk. Had she thought that long?
Bugs chirped this time, barely audible over the swish of the waves. Vriska noticed the water ripple. She thought nothing of it, just likely a creature of the sea. In a way, that was more calming.
A wider ripple in the water. Two of them, actually, not too far apart. The sound made her assume it was someone swimming to the surface.
In an instant, she spotted a head emerge from the water. The first thing she noticed about this person, presumably a girl, was her skin. Grey.
She blinked to see if her eyes were playing tricks on her, then almost shrieked.
Wide pink eyes, eerie wide eyes looked just as much at her as she was looking at them.
"What.." she trailed off.
"Don't be scared!" The girl said in a fairly chipper, but also somehow commanding tone. It was hardly comforting. She huffed.
"Fine." She was still startled. The girl's voice was familiar, but she couldn't remember a person to pin it on...
