Annabeth's POV:

    The arena was amazing. Guards dueled everywhere on the training grounds with shiny celestial bronze swords, which glimmered under the light. I gasped as I spotted trees blossoming with carnations, roses and lilies. Grunts were heard everywhere as the clanging of swords reverberated through the air. I sighed, basking in the sunshine and ignoring the smell of sweaty men. Percy nudged my before gesturing to a group of teenagers wearing crowns and circlets that were sitting by a tree. His friends, I presumed.

    "It's nice to meet you all." I greeted them politely as we approached. They all snapped to attention, whipping out daggers and swords. My hand twitched as I resisted the urge to draw my out celestial bronze dagger gifted by my best friend, Luke. "Calm down, guys, this is the princess of Athens, Annabeth Chase." Percy exclaimed nervously. (Italics is Greek) "She looks like a blonde idiot!" A boy with curly brown hair piped up. The girl with choppy brown hair next to him slapped him.

    "Leo, that's rude!" The girl chided. Did they not know I could speak Greek fluently? Leo shrugged. "Actually, she is a boring bookworm." Percy groaned. My eyebrows shot up but I stood, listening to their conversation discreetly. "What we meant to say, is hi. I'm Thalia Grace and this is my brother, Jason Grace. We are the heirs of Olympus. Though she does look like a blonde bimbo. However, her kingdom is even stronger than Olympus and we can't anger her."A girl with messy black hair and blue eyes said the last part in Greek while gesturing to the boy beside her with blonde hair and blue eyes too. I resisted the urge to punch her while plastering a smile on my face.

    "I'm Piper McLean, princess of Verdantia. (Thanks, chat gpt) I'm also Jason's girlfriend. This hyperactive dwarf is Leo Valdez, prince of Emberwatch. The emo kid is Nico di Angelo, prince of Duskvale and Bianca's little brother. The sunny boy, Nico's boyfriend, is Will Solace, prince of Luminare. We also have Hazel Levesque of Cindergrove and her boyfriend Frank Zhang of Wildgrove. Lastly, we have Calypso Nightshade, Leo's girlfriend and princess of Aetheris." Piper introduced. I beamed at her before turning to give the rest of Percy's friends a once-over. I liked every one of them except for Thalia and Leo, because of the comments that they had made. Nico was wearing a black t-shirt and black sweatpants while Will, who was wearing a yellow and baggy shirt, gave me finger-guns. Bianca smiled sweetly at me while Frank and Hazel flashed me a thumbs-up. Calypso, however, sneered in my direction, along with Leo. Adding her to the list, then!

    Percy forced a smile onto his face when Calypso commented, "Are we sure she is a princess, guys? She looks extremely hot-tempered." I snapped. "I'm not stupid and Greek is my first language!" All of Percy's friends froze as I clenched and clenched my fists. "Shoot." Leo whispered.

    "We're so sorry!" Piper bowed and apologized. I face-palmed and said loudly, "I don't behead people for gods' sake! Loosen up!" I stomped up to Leo and kicked him where the sun don't shine.

    "OWWWW!" He shrieked. I rolled my eyes and strode back to Percy, who was staring, bemused. "Anyways, Annabeth, wanna spar?" Thalia, out of all people, asked me while clutching her spear. Pleasantly surprised, I nodded, making a mental note to try and befriend her. "How about this? Since she is new, we'll all spar against her, one at a time! Percy's the champion at sword-fighting, so Annabeth will fight him last!" Will proposed, smirking. "Yeah, we'll beat her!" Leo cheered, pumping his fist in the air. "We'll see about that!" I challenged.
