It is always been this way around. We are keeping it simple, hiding from something. I did think this was happening because of the sudden judgments my father has always made for me.
"Lany, how about going back to school? Have you ever considered it again?"
I put my napkin in my lap, "I don't know. Maybe not today."
My father always watches. He takes me as the priority more than everyone. But it just snaps me out of it. Today, I am here in my auntie's place. I'm eating my breakfast, talking less, and torturing myself.
"Lany, can you speak Filipino fluently?"
"No."
I lied. Wala akong gustong kausapin sa bahay na ito. Trusting someone means danger. And I cannot risk it all just because of a extended family.
"Ate, can you please get the rice for me?" a little boy approached me at the table. He is my cousin if I remember correctly. Kinuha ko 'yung kanin at ibinigay sa kanya. I smiled a little bit. And he smiled at me too.
"Tita Jie, I'm full. I'll go back to my room. And... about the school, I called Yaya Tina about it. She will arrange it for me," I politely said. Tumayo na ako sa hapagkainan.
"Oh, sige. You tell me where you'll study, okay? Alam mo naman, your father still cares for you. He needs an update all the time, Iha." She laughs, and I sigh.
"Tell Father that too if you want, Tita. Have a good night po."
As I stepped in the stairs, my eyes blurred. "Why, father?" My pace becomes quicker, I open the door of my bedroom and cry my eyes out again for a millionth time.

The sun came as my phone rang again for another call. I pick it up even though my eyes are still out.
"Hello?"
"Iha, how are you?" My eyes open wide and I get up in bed immediately.
