Something fishy is going on. No, not salmon on the grill, or trout leaping in the water. Something suspicious. Something mysterious. I, Aubrey Hall, have found something incredible.

The hunt began July fourth, 1989. I now know why they came that day, but that has its place somewhere else in the story. Watching the fireworks dazzle and whizz around in the midnight blue sky was extraordinary. The suspense and patience, waiting for this day, this moment, was worth it. But, I had yet to uncover why this Fourth of July was going to be the best of all.
As you can probrobly tell, Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. It is on my birthday. This was my tenth birthday, double digits. Anyway, as we were watching the fireworks, I saw a little ball of light zip across the sky. It landed not far away from where we were so I went over to look at it. I rummaged in the dirt where it landed. I didn't find anything so I turned back. My backpack felt heavier than usual, which was odd, but I kept walking back to where my family was sitting.
We headed back home and wrapped up the party. I flopped on my bed from pure exhaustion and fell into a deep sleep. But apparently not deep enough to sleep through this. "Nima n-Ana eek". The lights were on the other side of the room, so I felt around for them. The lights were on at last, I turned around and saw a small, fuzzy creature with a pair of big, deep blue eyes staring back at me."eek" it said hesitantly. Instead of screaming, which I normally would do if I encountered something like this, I did something quite remarkable. I picked it up. It seemed to be crying. Last weeks library lesson was morse code, thank goodness, because it started fluttering its eyes in morse code. It said: HELP MIP. "Is your name MIP?" I questioned it, and it nodded. "Uh, What do you want me to do?" I questioned it again, still not knowing what was going on. " FIND FAMILY " it replied. " there are more of you?" It nodded.
"Wait, but then why were you sent here from space? " I questioned it yet again, still not familiar with the concept at hand. " PLANET INVADED. WE EVACUATE. I SENT HERE LAST " I picked MIP up and put him in my backpack. "We're going for a ride."
