The car skidded as they rounded a corner, the tires screeching on the tarmac. Travis glanced into his rearview mirror, but the van was still hot on their heels.
"Fuck!" Travis shouted, whacking the steering wheel with his hand. He knew they shouldn't have stopped.

Cars swerved out of the way as the chase continued, down winding roads and many turns, but they couldn't lose the van.

Suddenly Taylor felt a sharp pain in her lower back, a clenching feeling. She inhaled sharply, her hand going to her bump. She knew what this was. She felt something on the seat and glanced down to see a wet patch seeping through her leggings. Shit.

"Travis" Taylor whimpered as another contraction shot through her body.
"Not right now Taylor" Travis warned, his teeth clenched as he continuously glanced back.
"Travis, my water broke!" She snapped, tears immediately filling her eyes.
"Your... What?!" Travis glanced towards his wife before his eyes were back on the road. This couldn't be happening.

"Travis!" Taylor screeched as another burst of pain gripped her.
"Okay, okay, we need to get you to a hospital" he muttered to himself, worried out of his mind. Taylor wouldn't give birth in the middle of a car chase, would she?

Just then, whilst Travis wasn't paying attention, his foot on the gas pedal lifted a bit. The van behind them ploughed into the back of the car, sending it spinning.
"Fuck!" Travis shouted as his arms instinctively reached over to Taylor, trying to protect both her and the baby.

The grinding sounds of metal and the crash ceased, leaving the pair in silence. They were both passed out, Travis leaned over Taylor and Taylor's head resting on the smashed glass of the window.

Travis's eyes opened almost immediately, and he winced, looking around the car. It wasn't too smashed up, it would probably still work. Then his gaze flickered back over to Taylor and his stomach dropped.
"Tay, sweetie, wake up!" He shook her shoulder frantically. Her eyelids fluttered as she gripped Travis's hand in pain, another contraction rocketing through her.
"Are you okay?" Travis asked, sensing her pain. "You're hurt!" He exclaimed, noticing the giant gash she had on her forehead.
"Contractions" Taylor muttered through gritted teeth.
"Oh right, we need to get you to a hospital" once he had made sure Taylor was fine he faced forwards in his seat, glancing behind him.

His eyes widened as he remembered why they were there. Craining his neck he surveyed the situation behind them. The white van was on its side, and all was still.
"Thank god" Travis muttered, turning on the ignition and stepping on the gas pedal. The car was pretty much working fine as they cruised off down the road, in search of the nearest hospital.

By the time they pulled up outside the accident and emergency entrance Taylor's contractions were ten times more painful and a lot closer together.
"You've got this baby" Travis squeezed her hand as she breathed through another contraction. Once that one was over Travis leapt out the car, jogging round to Taylor's side and lifting her up bridal style.
"My wife is in labour!" He cried out as he entered the hospital. A nurse with a gurney came running and he laid her down on it, whispering words of comfort as she looked up at him, terrified.

Five minutes later they were set up in a room. Taylor was being told she was already 10cm dilated as Travis sat behind her on the bed. Taylor was sat between his legs, hers propped up as the nurse examined her.
"Get ready to push!" Doctor Wilson told her, and Taylor nodded tiredly. She gripped Travis's hand tightly, her head rested on his shoulder. Her forehead was sweaty as she screamed, pushing.
"Again!" The nurse told her, and she did it again.
" I've got the head, now one more push Taylor! "

Taylor lay her head back, panting heavily.
"You've got this baby" Travis whispered in her ear.
"I cant" Taylor sobbed.
"You can, you're amazing. The strongest person I know" Travis told her.
"Really?" Taylor smiled, despite the pain.
"Really"

As another contraction hit Taylor screamed, and Travis thought his hand was going to break. As soon as their baby was out they were whisked away by a nurse, leaving Taylor and Travis with the midwife.
"Where's my baby?" Taylor whispered tiredly as she laid back on Travis.
"They just have to give them a quick check up, they'll be here soon" the nurse told her but her face was worried.

"I'm so proud of you Tay, you're amazing" Travis pressed a kiss to her head and Taylor smiled up at him tiredly.

Just then another nurse entered the room, her expression solemn.
"I'm so sorry"
