I'm really annoyed because I was writing this chapter, and I was almost finished, then my laptop shut off wand all my progress was lost. :(

We all climbed out of the van and I grabbed a few bags of my luggage from the trunk.

Aunt Janie, Uncle Brent, and Anica all helped me carry my stuff inside and we just set it in the foyer at the foot of the stairs temporarily.

I looked around the house. To my right was the dining room, which looked like it connected to the kitchen if you walked through it. To my left was a metal door that I assumed led to the garage, and if you kept going forward there was the living room with two green couches. a few tables, and a flatscreen TV.

Aunt Janie turned and smiled at me, "Welcome! I'll show you where your room is." She led the way up the tan carpeted stairs.

The upstairs was just one small hallway with a few doors branching off.

"This door right here is mine and Uncle Brent's room." She said, pointing to the door at the end of the stairs to the left.

"That room is the extra room." She pointed to a door to our left.

We turned left down the hallway, "This is the bathroom that you and Anica will share."

She gestured to a door to the right, "This is Anica's room."

And finally we reached the last door. Aunt Janie pushed the white wooden door open and I stared into the room, "This is your room."

We stepped into the room, or well, stepped down into the room. There were two steps leading down from the doorway to the floor of the room, which was pretty awesome.

All the walls were painted plain white, and the bed had black covers and red pillows. There was a black desk on the far wall, and a black dresser at the foot of my bed.

It was plain, but it was cool.

"I hope you like it!" Aunt Janie said.

"I love it." I said smiling at her, "Thanks Aunt Janie."

"Oh please!" Aunt Janie waved her hand, "Just call me Janie."

"Ok."

"Well let's go get your stuff from downstairs, ok?" We made our way downstairs and I grabbed as many things as I could.

"Anica? Help us carry this stuff to Michael's room." Janie called.

Anica appeared from the kitchen and silently obeyed, grabbing a few boxes.

When we made it to my room I just threw the bags onto my bed, and Anica and Janie set their load on the floor.

"Ok, we'll just leave you to get settled, and I'll call you when dinner's ready. Also don't be afraid to ask if you need anything!" Janie said.

"Ok thanks." I said.

They both exited the room and I began unpacking all of my stuff. I set my laptop and phone on my desk first, then organized all my school supplies on the shelves on top of the desk.

I unloaded all of my clothes into the dresser, and put the extra clothes in the closet which was right beside my dresser.

I put my entire toiletry bag in the bathroom under the counter. The bathroom was conveniently one door away.

I put my guitar, which was still in it's case, but to my dresser at the foot of my bed.

I threw my ugly tie-dye pillow on my bed. It was a faded orange, green, and purple tie-dyed pillow case I had gotten from my best friend back in Washington. She had made it for me herself, when we were only about 6 or so.

I immediately was overwhelmed with sadness. I left my best friend. Her name was Kristina. I had known her my entire life. We planned our lives together, we wanted to grow up to be in some kind of band together. We both played instruments and sang. Now I would have to wait until we finished high school, and I turned eighteen and could afford to see her again.

I still had to go through junior and senior year until I was free. The thought of school made me feel sick.

What if I was bullied again? What if no one talked to me and I ended up friendless? I just knew I would get judged for my colored hair. It happened everywhere I went. I felt myself fill an intense overwhelming fear.

I sat down on my bed and looked around my room and half-unpacked boxes. This was too much. I didn't want to be here.

I felt tears form in my eyes and my body and lip start to shake. Before I knew it my head was buried in my pillow, and I was shaking uncontrollably. I sat up on my bed gasping for air, and soon grew dizzy.

I knew exactly what was happening. I was having a panic attack.

I tried to take normal breaths, but I couldn't.

This panic attack wasn't as bad as some of my other ones, but it was still terrible.

I don't know how long I sat there, completely breaking down, but eventually everything slowed down and I laid on my bed on my back, my feet hanging off the edge, so my dirty vans weren't on my bed.

I stared up at the unfamiliar ceiling and took deep breaths to stop the leftover shaking and few tears. After a while it worked, and I felt okay.

I wiped my eyes and pulled my hands into my sleeves. I knew what would help.

I grabbed my phone off of the desk and opened the Skype app, clicking Kristina's username.
