I used to pray to Allah for material things
Like good looks and the world's riches
Now I find myself asking differently
Now that I've grown spiritually.
Instead of monetary gifts,
I seek for great manners
Instead of outward fame
I just want to call out His Name.
This Dunya is just a trial for you and I
And so may we always never lose sight
Of what truly matters in this life
Just a preparation for the afterlife.
Oh Allah grant me good health
That I may have the strength
To earn more wealth here and there
So I may give in charity for my sisters and brothers.
When Allah guides and cleanses the heart
We become a person who's more aware
We're more intentional and freer
And most of all, we want to be closer.
Closer to our Maker
Closer to our Creator
Coz the best feeling ever felt by us
Is knowing we are loved by Him, the Most Loving!
Du'a is powerful, Allah said to us
Du'a changes our destiny
In what's written
And what's not.
And so let's continue to pray and ponder
Save ourselves from the fire
And hopefully see Allah's Face
In His Forevermore Blissful Garden.
Allahumma Ameen.
