The light drizzle began in the forlorn autumn landscape, welcoming a feeling of love. The cool weather sent a slight shiver through the body, stirring the heart with romantic thoughts. What a soothing atmosphere! A handful of daisy flowers would have been nice to hold close to the nose and let their pure fragrance fill the mind and soul. The boy with the umbrella ran and stopped near the car. Within a minute, he quickly opened the door and smiled politely. With gentle courtesy, he requested,
"Please come, Kook. Hyung has sent me to pick you up."
Jungkook was stunned, frozen. He couldn’t figure out how to react. The boy was a complete stranger. This was the first time Jungkook had seen him. Bewildered, he looked back at Jennie. Jennie still had that mesmerizing smile on her lips, signaling him to get out. What was happening? Why was it happening? Which hyung? Jungkook knew nothing. Reluctantly, he placed one foot outside the car onto the muddy, wet ground. The boy immediately handed his umbrella to Jungkook, raising it above his head while he himself stood under the rain, letting it soak him. Meanwhile, the rain intensified. Hesitantly, Jungkook took the umbrella. The boy unfolded the other umbrella, raised it over his own head, and cheerfully said,
“Let’s go, Kook.”
Jungkook walked with steady steps. The old raw road was slippery with mud. If he fell, his reputation would be ruined. Taking small steps, he followed the boy. The car door was already open, as if the person who sent for him had been eagerly waiting. The surroundings were dark, the atmosphere quiet, and the evening rain was making the scene even more somber. Due to the lack of light, it was hard to see the person’s face clearly. However, Jungkook recognized him perfectly, down to the smallest detail. In a faint, astonished voice, two words escaped his lips,
“Taehyungie hyung!”
“Come inside, Bunbun.”
Taehyung’s deep voice suddenly shook Jungkook. His slow, steady heartbeat began to race. As Jungkook moved to close the umbrella, the boy stepped forward and said,
“Let me take it, I will close the umbrella. You can sit inside the car.”
Jungkook’s face flushed with embarrassment. Handing over the umbrella, he slowly got into the car. The boy shut the door and left. Why did Taehyung call him 'Bunbun' in front of a stranger? It was so embarrassing. Maybe Taehyung always found satisfaction in teasing him. As Jungkook sat against the side of the car, a grumpy voice hit his ears,
“Why are you stuck against the window? Do you think I’m going to eat you?”
Jungkook's insides jumped. His chin tucked close to his throat. Taehyung, resting his head on the seat, closed his eyes and commanded in a loud voice,
“Come sit closer, or with one slap, I’ll knock out all twenty-eight of your teeth. Whether it's with one slap or two, you will sit close to me.”
Jungkook being frightened moved a little closer. Why was Taehyung being so stern? Even sitting next to him made Jungkook feel strange. Though there was a ten-inch gap between them, his heart pounded, and now, sitting so close, it felt like it might burst. If Taehyung discovered what was going on inside his chest, there would be no escape today. He would roast him completely, without stopping until Jungkook turned into a red mush. Jungkook couldn’t let that happen. From the time he became aware of things, he had endured all of Taehyung’s scolding and teasing because of one reason—he was mortally afraid of this man. Jungkook's breathing became heavy whenever Taehyung was nearby. His body stiffened as he sat, tightly wound. With anxiety, he asked,
“Where are we going, Tae hyung?”
“To sell you.”
“Sell me?”
