A Painted Smile
Inspired by Jason’s photograph, Emily started a new painting. It was different from anything she had done before—more vibrant, more alive. For the first time, she included a figure in her work. A boy, standing in the light, his face soft but unmistakable.
As she worked, her mind kept drifting to Jason. His smile, the way his eyes lit up when he talked about photography, the way he made her feel… She realized she was falling for him, slowly but surely.
But she wasn’t sure if Jason felt the same. He was always so kind, so thoughtful, but what if it was just friendship to him? The thought made her nervous.
When the painting was finished, Emily hesitated to show it to anyone. It felt too personal, too revealing. But eventually, she decided to take a leap of faith.
