Chapter 5

LILY

I hold Nicky's hand and we continue to walk. Just after we take the third step, I hear his voice from behind.

"Wait,.." he says walking towards us.  Why did he come back? I turn to him and say," Sir, why did you come back?"

" I think I left my car keys inside my jacket." he says and looks at me.  "Oh ok" then I look for his keys inside his inner pockets, find them. "Here" I stretch out my hands to give it to him and my hand accidentally brushes his hands. I look up at him and find him staring at me closely. I don't know why but I blush slightly and pull out my hand. "Sorry." I say softly looking down. 

"Nicky, come let's go. "Nicky comes to me and we walk away from him walking forward.

"Miss...?" he calls out to me again. What does he want now? I didn't want to get close with him anymore.

"Sir, is there something else?" I ask keeping my distance.

"I overheard you guys say you didn't have a place to stay. Do you really have nowhere to stay or a home here?" he says.

Oh, he heard us. But why does he care?

"I'm sorry sir, but I don't think that has anything to do with you, I'm very thankful for everything you've done but I don't want to owe you much." I say to you.

Then he stares at me with nothing to say. I turn to leave.

"Sister, why are you being so mean. He has helped us why do you speak to him that way." Nicky says looking at me.

"What did I do wrong. He's a stranger how can we trust him much. Have you forgotten what mom said about strangers?" I say to Nicky.

" But sister...." he says and I cut him off saying," don't say anything let's just leave." I hold his hand and drag him out.

         * Natheniel's POV*

What is wrong with this girl? Look, I was just trying to help and she's giving me this attitude. Why did I care anyway. I wouldn't care if something happened to her. I turn and walk away.

After a few walks, I hear her say, "Nicky! Nicky! What's wrong with you. Oh my god."

Then I see her hugging her brother, sitting on the ground whiles crying.

*sighs*

I don't know if to go or go back to them.*sigh," I'm doing it only for her brother not for this ungrateful girl." I walk back to them.

        *Lily's POV*

I was walking with Nicky when suddenly he just fainted. I didn't know what was wrong but I was just scared that I started crying. 

"What is wrong with him. Why did he suddenly pass out.?" the guy comes to me and says. What is up with him. Why does he care? *sighs* if not for Nicky, I would have just ignored him.

"I don't know what's wrong with him. He said he had a slight headache and suddenly fainted. I-I don't know ..." then he bends down towards us and holds Nicky's hand. Then he touches his forehead.

"He's having a fever. Is probably because of the weather." he says and I yank  Nicky's hand out from him. "I don't need your help" I say. Then he looks at me with a cold face and frowns," What is wrong with you? I was just trying to help and you are giving me this attitude. Do you think I came back for you? I came only because of him, ok? Get that in that head of yours." 

Why is this guy so annoying? " Do you think I care about if you came or not? I know how to take care of my brother with out your help. I don't need you to save him or me." I say with a cold tone.

"Oh really? Then why didn't you save yourself when you were harassed by those guys. Do you think you're a match for such guys. Do you know what would have happened to you if I didn't help you, huh?" he says angrily. 

Of course I know what would have happened if he didn't come. "I would have saved myself, without your help."

What was wrong with this girl? "Hey, do you have a loose screw or what. Instead of arguing, you should be thinking of how to help your brother, dummy." he says to me. 

He's right. I have to help Nicky first. I pull him inside to cover him with his jacket.

" I'll get him to a doctor first. With or without your permission." then he takes him from me and walks away.

"Hey, you, you, bring me back my brother." I follow him and end up getting into his car and get to a hospital.
