Mae was sitting in her spacious living room, her legs propped up as she flipped through a magazine, boredom creeping in. Anya had gone to stay with her mother for a few days, leaving Mae feeling a little lonely. The large house felt even more empty without her best friend around to fill it with laughter and chatter. Mae glanced around the vast space, the high ceilings and elegant decor standing in stark contrast to the quietness that enveloped her. She sighed, feeling a mix of restlessness and longing for company.

"Ugh, I need some company," she murmured to herself, tossing the magazine aside. It was one of those days when being in a mansion just made her feel isolated. The size of her home was a constant reminder of the void left by Anya's absence. Mae decided to text Javon, a thought that brought a small spark of excitement. After a moment of hesitation, she grabbed her phone and typed out a quick message.

Mae: Hey, Javon! Want to come over? I'm pretty bored and could use some company. My dad said it's fine!

She hit send and waited, tapping her foot impatiently against the floor. A few minutes passed before her phone buzzed with a reply.

Javon: Absolutely! I'd love to come over! What's your address again?

Mae felt a wave of relief wash over her. She quickly responded with her address and made her way to the front door to wait for him. Just the thought of seeing him brightened her mood. A sense of anticipation filled the air, and before long, she heard a knock.

Opening the door, she found Javon standing there, looking slightly amazed.

"Whoa! This place is huge! I feel like I just walked into a palace!" he exclaimed, his eyes wide with awe.

Mae couldn't help but smile. "Welcome to my humble abode! It used to belong to Fernande Courtoy, a lady from Belgium. So, yeah, it's a bit big."

"Just a bit?" Javon teased, stepping inside and looking around. The high ceilings, grand staircase, and ornate decor made it clear that her home was anything but ordinary.

As Mae walked with her crutches into the grand entryway, she felt a mix of pride and embarrassment. She had always appreciated her home, but today it felt almost overwhelming.

"You've got to show me around!" Javon insisted, and Mae nodded enthusiastically.

"Of course! Come meet my dogs first." She led him to the backyard, where her three dogs were basking in the sunlight, running around and barking playfully.

"This is Sisi and Dada, my Dobermans. And over there is Astro, my Cane Corso. And the little one inside is Ruby, my Cavalier King Charles," she introduced, watching as Javon crouched down to greet them.

"They're all so cute! I love dogs! You've got quite the crew!" he said, laughing as Dada licked his face and Sisi wagged her tail excitedly.

After spending some time playing with the dogs, Mae decided to give Javon a tour of the house. "Let's head upstairs. I have something special to show you."

"Lead the way!" Javon said, grinning as he watched her struggle slightly with the crutches.

"Do you want me to carry you?" he asked with a teasing smile.

Mae laughed, "Are you sure? I don't want to weigh you down."

"Trust me. I got this!" he said confidently. He bent down and scooped her up effortlessly, and Mae felt a flutter in her stomach as he carried her up the stairs. She couldn't help but giggle, feeling a rush of excitement at being so close to him.

Once they reached the living room, Mae eagerly gestured toward the piano in the corner. "You've got to hear me play!"

She settled onto the bench and began to play a light melody, her fingers dancing over the keys. Javon watched in awe, clearly impressed. When she finished, he clapped enthusiastically.
