3rd person POV. july 26th ─ 27th, 2017
seventeen was in the middle of their world tour, and the next stop was japan. for tadao, the group’s 14th member, this was more than just another concert stop. performing in his home country meant the world to him. the familiar streets, the language, the culture—it all made his heart swell with pride and nostalgia. japan had always been his foundation, and now he was returning as part of one of the biggest k-pop groups in the world. the anticipation had been building for weeks, and while tadao usually kept his emotions in check, the members could see how much this meant to him. every time they mentioned the japan stop, his eyes lit up just a little more.
but what tadao didn’t know was that the members had a surprise planned for him. behind the scenes, they had been working with his grandparents, arranging for them to attend the concert. it wasn’t easy keeping such a big secret from him, especially when they all knew how close he was to his grandparents. they had raised him, supported him through everything, and the members had heard countless stories about the love and warmth he felt for them. now, the group was determined to give tadao a moment he’d never forget—a reunion with his beloved grandparents right after the performance.

but just as the group began to walk off stage, jeonghan nudged him with a sly grin. "hey, tadao, we have a little surprise for you."
tadao blinked, confused. "a surprise?"
"you’ll see," seungkwan added with a mischievous smile.
the other members exchanged knowing glances as they guided tadao backstage. something was definitely up, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. maybe it was a celebration for his homecoming, he thought. he had no idea what was waiting for him.
