ch-22 Past (pt.2)

Author's pov

The whole night aaban couldn't sleep thinking just about aafiya. He knew he did a mistake and somehow started regretting everything and thought to apologise to aafiya the other day but wasn't sure to do it or not.

Afterall he doesn't except her and thought that anyway she'll forget everything and again come to him for anything she wants. Meanwhile others were thinking about this matter too.

They realised that maybe they did it to much today. No matter how much they deny it, still she IS their sister. Saad was regretting for not stopping aaban and aadil in the middle and same goes for Shayan too.

Shayan realised that he shouldn't have done that to his sister. He still can remember the hurt in her eyes which was present the whole time when he didn't helped her and when aaban and aadil were shouting at her.

Even aadil was not able to remove that guilt which he was having after he shouted on that poor soul without thinking much. Maybe now they realised how much aafiya affects them.

Zayan was very furious on his brothers and felt that his brothers are not the brothers he once knew. The brothers he knew were sweet, caring and loving but the brothers he sees now are just some heartless bodies which he despises.

Next day

Everyone were seated on the dining table for the breakfast except for aafiya. The brothers were eagerly waiting for her to come but she didn't even after 15 or 20 minutes.

But even after feeling bad about it they still didn't thought of asking their mother about their sisters absence. They felt uneasiness creeping in their hearts except for Hamza offcourse.

Noticing their gazes drifting to the stairs again and again, asra spoke while pouring tea in her cup completely not looking at them.

Asra- what happened? You all are not focusing on your food today. Hearing her cold voice they went stiff but then aaban spoke with a low voice.

Aaban- its nothing like that mumma we are just getting late soo..

Asra- then eat a little and leave. They didn't said anything for a while but then zayan spoke the words which the brothers were hesitant to ask.

Zayan- mumma where is aafiya?

Asra- why are you asking?

Saad- wo she is not here so we thought maybe she is not well..

Asra- she is perfectly fine and already went to the school early in the morning. They widened their eyes while Shayan choked on his food, as asra was sitting beside him she quickly passed him the water while patting his back, Be careful beta.

Zayan- but mumma isn't it too early for her to go like that.

Asra- she wanted to Leave early as she had to get some books from the school's library. They nodded their heads and decided not to ask something further but only they knew how much restless they felt.

Evening

The brothers quickly came home in search of aafiya as they didn't saw her from the morning except for Saad.At the school also she was not present in the lunch break which made them a little concerned about her.

As she was walking in the corridor for some reason, Saad saw her but she was too busy in her thoughts to even notice him. He even called her but she didn't listen and walked away.
