"Retribution"

Recently, people had been disappearing from your town late at night. There seemed to be a pattern in the abductees: they were all young females who had attended the same college. They all attended your college, which as a female too, didn't seem to soothe your nerves.
Your family desperately tried convincing you to drop out or transfer but you were only a few months away from graduation, and your loans were by no means little. Besides, you never left your dorm past sunset anyway. What social life of yours required you to be out that late?
And so like any other Friday night, while your roommate and peers were partying a few blocks away, you were lounging in bed and revising over some notes for an upcoming exam.
After rereading the same flashcard for the fifteenth time, you sighed and pushed the stack of cards away. You needed a break. And a snack too. Unfortunately your supplies had dwindled and now you had no snacks (disregarding the toffee from two semesters ago...seriously, who even likes them?).
Biting your thumb, a quick glance at the clock showed you it was nearing eight-thirty. You lived in a particularly busy area and the local convenience store was only a three minute walk in both directions.Weighing the pros and cons, you eventually relented and shrugged on a jacket and some shoes to go outside. You walked the usual route but once you reached the main road, the pedestrian path was closed due to road-works.
With a groan, you hugged your jacket closer to yourself and took a detour through a quieter side road. It didn't help that the streetlights were spread far and few, and the light was very dim. Leaves in the large, overhead trees rustled and the howling wind nipped at your nose and cheeks.
After braving the elements, you eventually made your way to the convenience store. It didn't take you long to grab your snacks and pay for them. "Be careful tonight Y/N," the cashier, a young teen from the local high school, warned. "I've heard that girls from your college are getting kidnapped."
"Thanks for your concern, Trent," you smiled as you took your bag from him. "I'll make sure to be safe."
"You better." After bidding goodbye, you began the perilous journey back. It was only this little side road that posed a serious issue; the rest of the journey was on the main road with plenty of lighting and people.
It was dead silent and your heart thumped wildly. A twig snapped in the distance, and while your heart rate began to accelerate, you forced yourself to keep walking. Then, there was thundering against the sidewalk.
Okay, you definitely weren't imagining it. Someone else was here.
You began to run too, feeling saliva build up in your mouth and getting lodged in your throat. Your shoes slapped against the concrete. The bag of snacks collided against your hip with each step you took.
You had just reached the main road when a cloth covered your face.
With a stir, your eyes blinked the sleep away, but the darkness wasn't going. It smelt unpleasant too, like when soggy clothes grew mould. You straightened up but found your limbs not responding. Well they were, but with great difficulty. Your eyes suddenly widened and you assessed the situation.
You were in a dark room, strapped to a chair. No wonder you couldn't move!
Ragged breaths left your mouth at an increasing pace and your shoulders shook. But you weren't alone.
