Vriska: Inquire

"So, what are you?" Vriska sighed, swallowing her fear.
"Do you think a mysterious sea monster would just reveal herself to you just like that? I don't think so, missy! Glub!" The girl cheerily refused the question. Annoyingly. The last phrase invoked a memory, which slipped away as soon as she tried to grasp it, but the feeling of familiarity remained.
"What bullshit! It's not like you're particularly trying to hide it. You aren't mysterious, you know." She retorted.
"Whatever. What's your name?"
"I'm not telling you. Isn't there this myth that telling fae your name is bad or something? The chance isn't zero that that applies to humanoid 'sea monsters' too." Vriska didn't like taking her chances, but she could admit to herself that she was withholding information out of a little pettiness.
"Well, fine then! I'm not telling you either!" The girl crossed her arms on the shore with the petulant expression of a toddler on the brink of a tantrum.
Her demeanor, the pouty look on her face, it was all so familiar, but she supposed it was the eeriness of her that caused that.
Her skin looked like it would feel cold and dead. The dull gray made her think of zombie movies (when they didn't go for the typical green).
Gills were visible on her neck, as well as fins, large and webbed.
Vriska was too caught up in looking at the girl that she forgot how she was staring back.
And yet, she still said "Staring is rude, you know."
Vriska hid her annoyance at the hypocrisy for once. But she still did agree with the sentiment, she guessed.
"I know. I'm an idiot, aren't I?"
"Yeah, whatever." The way the girl smiled at her made her seem like she wasn't all that mad about it.
Vriska pushed that thought aside, sighing for the umpteenth time.
"Yeah. I'll...leave you alone now."
She assured the still-creepy, still smiling girl, setting off in the direction of her house without listening to the girl's reply.
