The ground trembled and bucked, splitting apart.
"Lizavet, how do we get outta here?" Indy asked, watching the ceiling collapse.
Another tremor knocked Lizavet into his chest. "I don't know - my dream did not allow me to get this far!"
Shorty looked at her, pulling her back to him. "You never got to escape?"
Lizavet shuddered, looking around. "They always killed me." She glanced at Indy. "But then - I would get back up. Like the Treasure Guardian allowed you to do. Death does not win."
"Not today, hon. Not today," Indy grinned.
Emily flinched as part of the chamber collapsed into the fiery chasm. "If it's built like a ziggurat - they had to look down on their worshippers."
Indy looked around. "Altar is directly behind us - that way!" He pointed ahead into a columned arched passageway. "Shorty! Lizavet - you first - watch out for traps - natural and supernatural!"
Indy turned back to Em. "Lean on me, Em. I'll pick you up and carry you if I have to."
"Dad! You can't! Your shoulder -!"
"Is fine," Indy smiled. "Something about getting knighted by the Treasure Guardian -"
Emily pressed herself into his protective arms. "You're a knight now, Dad?"
Indy sighed. "A long time ago, someone asked me that question and I told them, 'not really,' - I guess I am now."
