"Where's Jiwon?"
Kun asked, his brow furrowing in concern, his voice tinged with a hint of annoyance as he found Eunseok lounging alone, his expression unreadable.

Eunseok's shrug was nonchalant, his voice flat. "She left." The simplicity of his statement belied the complexity of Kun's emotions. He felt a pang of worry, wondering why Jiwon had been left to handle the patients alone.

Kun's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. "Left? What do you mean?" He strode closer to Eunseok, his long strides devouring the distance. "You didn't leave her to handle Patient 135, did you?" The thought sent a shiver down his spine.

Eunseok's expression remained impassive, but Kun detected a flicker of guilt in his eyes. "She's handling the patients and charts alone." Kun's worst fears were confirmed. Patient 135 was notorious for his volatile behavior, and Jiwon, despite her exceptional skills, was still relatively inexperienced.

Kun's face darkened with concern. "Oh my god, Eunseok, you shouldn't have done that!" His voice rose, echoing through the room. "patient 135 requires specialized care, and Jiwon shouldn't be handling him alone" He grasped Eunseok's arm, his grip firm.

"What do you mean? Why would you even let her handle such cases?
"I appointed that patient especially for you since you're skilled enough with difficult cases-"

Before Kun could continue, Eunseok hastily stood up, his movements economical and purposeful. Without a word, he strode out of the room, leaving Kun to trail after him, his words unspoken.

"I'm so disappointed in you, Eunseok," Kun muttered, shaking his head. "You left her to deal with that difficult patient alone, Kids nowadays." His sigh was heavy with frustration.

"You're insufferable, egoistic and selfish"

Was she being too much? Jiwon's thoughts swirled in an unrelenting vortex, replaying the scene with Eunseok on an infinity loop. Her mind raced, fueled by frustration and self-doubt. She clenched her hair, twisting the strands between her fingers as if strangling her own emotions.

She was known for her calm demeanor, a calming presence amidst chaos. Yet, Eunseok's abrupt departure had unsettled her, stirring up unfamiliar feelings.

Guilt gnawed at her conscience, illogical and persistent. Why should she feel responsible? He had walked away, abandoning her without explanation. His actions, not hers, had shattered their brief connection.

But something within her lingered, a nagging sense of remorse. Perhaps it was the fleeting connection they shared or the concern etched on his face before he vanished. Whatever the reason, Jiwon couldn't shake off the feeling.

As she stood there, lost in thought, her grip on her hair relaxed. Her hands fell to her sides, her eyes drifting toward the door. Jiwon took a deep breath and steadied herself. "Get a grip, Jiwon," she whispered, shaking off her doubts. With renewed composure, she entered the room wearing a warm, gentle smile.

Jiwon's brow furrowed as she searched the empty room, her eyes scanning every corner for any sign of Patient Choi Hoojun. His file lay open on the bedside table, revealing a history of volatile behavior and uncooperative tendencies. "Sir Hoojun?" she called out softly, her voice laced with caution.

She approached the washroom, gently rapping on the door. "Sir Hoojun, are you okay?" The silence that followed sent a shiver down her spine. Jiwon's instincts screamed warning, but her training kept her grounded.

As she turned to leave, a chilling voice whispered in her ear,

"Say one more word, and I'll slit your throat."

The cold blade pressed against her neck made her eyes widen in terror. Choi Hoojun's maniacal laughter echoed through the room, sending shivers down her spine. His grip tightened, the knife's edge biting into her skin. "Don't move" he growled, his hot breath dancing across her ear. Jiwon's heart racing.

Infuriating! She has never handled such case

Jiwon's training and coursework had prepared her for scenarios like this, but nothing compared to the raw intensity of real-life experience. Theories and textbooks faded into the background as she faced the stark reality of Hoojun's state.

Jiwon's emotions seesawed - fear wrestled with fascination - as she gazed into Choi Hoojun's turbulent eyes. His grip on the knife, though still unsettling, had loosened slightly. Yet, she smiled softly, her voice barely above a whisper

"Isn't that bad to play with knives?"

Hoojun's brow furrowed, his lips twisting into a petulant pout. "Is it?" His tone was laced with defiance, but Jiwon detected a glimmer of uncertainty. She seized upon it.

"Yes, it is," Jiwon replied, her tone gentle yet firm. "I think those who hold knives are very very bad people" Her words were calculated, inspired by her senior's approach with similar patients.

Hoojun's grip on the knife relaxed further, his eyes searching hers for sincerity. For a moment, Jiwon saw beyond the anger, beyond the pain - she saw a glimmer of desperation. "I don't care," he said, his voice tinged with defiance. "I just want to see blood." His words sent a shiver down her spine.

"Blood is so overrated" Jiwon countered, her words measured. "Don't you want to see something more interesting? Like toys and games?" She leaned forward, her eyes locking onto his. "There's a whole world beyond this darkness, Hoojun. A world full of color, full of life." Her smile deepened.

Hoojun's expression faltered, curiosity flickering across his face. "What games?" he asked, his voice laced with hesitation. The knife, once pressed against her throat, now hung limp.

Jiwon's heart swelled with hope. "Let's find out," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Finally she was their!
She mentally grinned as she caught his attention successfully, she was almost their. To convince him to atleast throw that knife away.

Jiwon's eyes locked onto Hoojun's, his eyes gleaming as if he found something more fascinating like a little child who just got to that aeroplanes exist. She smiled and decided to proceed the aftermath But before she could seal the connection, a sudden explosion of violence shattered the air.
