I know we all came to terms with the fact that everyone was going to be at the haunted house.

But it was quite literally everyone.

People were pooling out into the streets just to get in the event, and honestly by the looks of it we were going to be here forever.

"I got like three pennies. I'm about to bribe someone for their spot," Myles said as we took the smallest step forward.

The line was moving criminally slow and I had no idea how long we'd be waiting.

I had partially contributed to the making of the haunted house, I could have at least got a cut-the -line pass.

"We're about to wait in line for an hour for a lame diy experience made by old people," Chanel said with a groan, which made me squint.

"You do know that I worked on this right?" I questioned and she immediately pursed her lips.

Myles leaned down to my ear, "I wouldn't take that if I were you," he whispered.

"Stop instigating," Chanel said before rolling her eyes.

And after about ten minutes had passed it felt like I was officially losing my mind, especially since the line had barely moved a few feet.

"We don't have a plan b?" Myles questioned, because at this point I was over it.

But before I could respond I noticed a familiar group in the corner of my eye.

"Wait, stand in front of me and pretend you don't know me," I rushed out before standing behind them and pulling out my phone.

I really hoped they didn't notice me.

Each passing second felt extremely long as I kept my eyes glued to my phone, pretending to be busy.

That was until I saw a pair of stilettos in my line of vision.

"Cairo?" Pearl questioned cashing me to internally groan and lift my head.

I forced a huge smile to grow on my face, "I swear I haven't seen you in forever, where have you been?" I questioned, faking an enthusiastic tone.

I took in her costume which ironically was Cher from Clueless. And Chanel seemed to notice this too, especially with her laughter from in front of me.

I then immediately noticed Lucas and Hayley behind her who were dressed as the Joker and Harley Quinn.

Which was oddly fitting.

Especially considering that he was cheating on her.

"I was on my yearly vacation to Greece, I got back earlier today," she explained. "But I'm ready to party like right now."

"Right? Time could not move quick enough," I replied, causing her to nod.

"Why are you in line anyways? You're on the team, we could just walk in." she said, glancing toward the front of the school.

I internally let out a sigh of relief feeling entirely grateful that my hopes came true.

But before I could respond I remembered Chanel and Myles, and how there was no way I could get them to the front without being suspicious.

That was until I came up with something.

"Is it okay if they could go too? When I got here these two guys cut me and were being extremely rude, and they came to my rescue and let me join them in line," I explained hoping that it made sense.
