AUTHOR's POV

Reyansh rose from his seat to turn on the fan. The AC wasn't enough to fight the sweltering May-June heat. As he moved toward the switch, a hand abruptly grabbed his wrist. Startled, he turned to find Aditya standing there, his expression smug and defiant.

Reyansh's jaw clenched. "What the hell is your problem?" he asked, yanking his hand free.

Aditya scoffed, arms crossed. "Don't you have eyes? I'm compiling my daily practice sheets. You're not turning on that fan."

Reyansh narrowed his eyes, his voice calm but firm. "That's your problem, not mine. You don't own this class."

As Reyansh reached again for the fan switch, Aditya grabbed his collar, yanking him back. His voice was low and threatening.
"Try that one more time," Aditya growled, "and I'll show you what I do own."

Before Reyansh could react, Manav was there, seizing Aditya from behind. He jerked Aditya's hand away and slammed him down, pressing his head against the nearby desk, fingers tightening around his neck.

"Don't you dare do that again," Manav hissed, his voice icy. "Don't you dare."

Reyansh calmly turned on the fan, the soft whir cutting through the tense silence. Manav released Aditya, who stumbled back, his face flushed with fury. The entire class watched in stunned silence, the air thick with tension.

A man's ego is a fragile kingdom, built on pride and the fear of losing control. And in defending it, he's willing to risk everything—his dignity, his reason, even himself.

Reyansh's voice broke the silence, steady and unyielding. "Try turning it off if you've got the guts."

Aditya's face turned red with rage, but he didn't move. Instead, he stormed back to his seat in the front row, right beside the switchboard.

Reyansh and Manav returned to their usual spots—second row, third seat—while the rest of the class exchanged nervous glances, the echoes of their confrontation lingering in the air.

As Vanika and Mahi entered the classroom, they made their way to the second bench where Riya was already sitting. They chose seats directly beneath the fan, which whirred softly, providing some relief from the lingering summer heat.

The Chemistry lecture began, and the class fell silent, each student focused on the teacher's explanation. Suddenly, a low but distinct sneeze broke the stillness. Though it was soft enough to ignore, Reyansh noticed Vanika's face turn red, her expression betraying some discomfort.

Reyansh's POV

Is she... having a fever? She does seem a bit off today. Her face is so flushed... Wait. Why does she keep glancing at the fan? Is there... a ghost up there? No, no. Don't be ridiculous. Get it together, dumbo. She's probably feeling cold.
