The grand party hall was a vision of opulence, lit by the glow of thousands of lights, each corner shimmering with elegance.
The bar was well-stocked, offering a variety of fine alcohol, and the guests had arrived, their laughter mingling with the soft hum of music that filled the room.
Men in tailored business suits and women in dazzling gowns mingled, their smiles bright as they clinked glasses and exchanged pleasantries.
It was the annual meet of the business sector, a prestigious event sponsored by some of the most powerful businessmen in the country: Samaksh Jaiswal, Dhanush Chauhan, Shivam Arya, Yashvardhan Pratap Singh, Yuvaan Pratap Singh, and Vyom Pratap Singh.
With the families of these tycoons in attendance, the air was thick with wealth and status.
But amidst the grandeur, at the far end of the room, Shivam stood alone at the bar, his sharp eyes fixated on one person-her.
Samiksha.
She looked breathtaking, wearing a black gown that hugged her curves in all the right places, with a daring slit up her thigh, giving a tantalizing glimpse of her slender leg.
Shivam's breath caught in his throat at the sight of her.
She was a vision, an ethereal beauty who had captivated him completely.
Yet tonight, despite being in the same room, she hadn't even glanced in his direction.
His frustration was mounting.
It was driving him mad that she was ignoring him, especially after everything that had happened between them.
The dance floor had been opened, and couples twirled around, laughing and enjoying themselves.
More than a few women had approached Shivam for a dance, each one politely turned down, his focus entirely on Samiksha.
He couldn't tear his eyes away from her, but the fact that she didn't spare him a single look-not even once-was infuriating.
"What's up, bro?" came a familiar voice. Samaksh, had appeared at his side, grinning as he took a sip from his glass.
Shivam stayed silent, staring at his drink, avoiding Samaksh's eyes.
"Kya hua tujhe?" Samaksh asked, his tone laced with concern. "I've noticed you've been acting strange lately. You're not yourself... Could it be... pyaar vyar toh nahi ho gaya?" he teased, chuckling to himself.
Shivam's grip on his drink tightened, and beside them, Dhanush, who had just arrived, nearly choked on his own drink, coughing violently.
Shivam shot him a warning glare while Samaksh looked between the two of them, clearly confused.
Dhanush thought to himself, Beta, jab tujhe pata chalega ki yeh kis ke pyaar mein pada hai, tujhe sach mein shock lagega.
"What's going on with you two?" Samaksh pressed, his eyes narrowing. "You're definitely hiding something from me. Out with it!"
Dhanush, avoiding Samaksh's suspicious gaze, fumbled for an excuse, while Shivam stood there, impassive, sipping his drink in silence.
"I'm sure now," Samaksh said with conviction. "You two are hiding something."
Dhanush opened his mouth, ready to spill everything, but Shivam cut him off sharply. "Not here. Not now. I'll tell you everything when the time is right."
Samaksh wasn't convinced, but before he could argue further, Yuvika, called him over to the dance floor.
He shot the two of them a lingering look before leaving to join her.
