It was a cozy night at the house Taylor and Travis shared. The fire crackled softly in the backyard pit, sending occasional sparks into the night sky. Drew, Tree, Taylor, and Travis sat around the fire, sipping drinks and enjoying the laid-back vibe. Travis, ever the host, had made sure everyone had a drink in hand, and Drew, perhaps, had indulged in a bit too much.

As the night wore on, Drew started to loosen up, his words slurring slightly as he leaned back in his chair. The conversation had drifted from casual banter about work to light teasing about past relationships. That's when Drew, clearly a little more tipsy than anyone else, chuckled to himself and muttered something under his breath.

"What was that?" Travis asked, grinning. He wasn't one to shy away from a good bit of gossip, especially if it involved someone getting roasted.

Drew sat up a little straighter, his drunken confidence taking over. "I was just sayin'... Joe was a fat, ugly prick. Like, seriously," he said, his words a little louder now. "And Travis? You're so much better than him in every way. Like... way better." He pointed a wobbly finger at Travis and then at Taylor. "You, Tay, you really upgraded."

The group went silent for a beat before Tree and Travis burst out laughing. Taylor's eyes widened, her face flushing with a mix of shock and amusement.

"Drew!" Taylor gasped, trying to stifle her laughter. "That's... I mean, wow!"

Drew, oblivious to the stir he'd caused, simply nodded. "It's true! He was awful. And Travis? You're a good guy. Great guy. Way better than Joe ever was."

Travis was laughing so hard he had to wipe tears from his eyes. "Well, thanks, man! Appreciate the, uh, glowing review."

Tree shook her head, still chuckling. "Oh my god, Drew. You're gonna regret this in the morning."

Taylor, trying to regain her composure, looked at Travis and shrugged, a playful grin tugging at her lips. "Guess I really did hit the jackpot."

Travis leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. "You better believe it."

The night continued with more laughter, and Drew eventually passed out in one of the patio chairs, completely unaware of the chaos he'd just caused.

Time skip to the next morning

Drew woke up with a headache that felt like a marching band was playing inside his skull. He squinted against the morning light filtering through the window, taking a moment to gather his thoughts. As he slowly made his way to the kitchen, he could hear Taylor and Travis talking and laughing over breakfast.

"Morning, sleepyhead!" Travis called out, a teasing smile on his face. "How's it feel to be the world's worst gossip?"

Drew groaned, his mind flashing back to the previous night. "Oh no, did I say something dumb?" He plopped down at the table, rubbing his temples.

"Just a little bit," Taylor said, her voice laced with laughter. "But it was pretty entertaining."

"Drew," Travis began, a playful seriousness in his tone, "you had quite the opinion on my predecessor last night."

"Uh-oh," Drew muttered, realizing he had opened a can of worms. "What exactly did I say?"

"Something about Joe being a fat, ugly prick," Travis said, smirking. "And then you went on to say I'm better in, like, every possible way."

Drew felt his cheeks flush, but he couldn't help the small smile creeping onto his face. "Well, that part's true," he said, leaning back in his chair, his bravado returning. "You are better in every way."

Taylor's eyes sparkled with delight. "You really think that?"

Drew nodded seriously. "Absolutely. You're happy with him, and that's what matters. I mean, last night, I just let it all out without thinking. But Joe? He didn't appreciate you, and you deserve someone who does." He glanced at Travis, who wore an approving smile.

Travis chuckled, raising his mug in salute. "I'll drink to that. You're not so bad, Drew, especially when you're drunk."

"Yeah, maybe I should get drunk more often if it means you guys get compliments," Drew replied, laughing, although he felt the slight sting of embarrassment in his cheeks.

Taylor leaned over to Drew, her expression earnest. "Thank you for saying that, Drew. I know my past relationships have been... complicated. But it feels good to know you've got my back."

"Always," Drew said, his voice sincere. "I just want to make sure you're happy, and it's clear that Travis makes you happy."

"Damn right I do!" Travis chimed in, throwing an arm around Taylor's shoulders again, pulling her close.

Drew smiled, the warmth of the friendship surrounding them dispelling any remnants of his hangover. "Now, let's talk about that breakfast you promised me. I'm starving!"

As the three of them laughed and shared a meal together, the night's earlier confessions felt like just another memory, a reminder of the bond they all shared—one filled with humor, honesty, and an unwavering support for each other.
