"Where I am?
When I close my eyes
It becomes a forgotten sea
When I just want to settle down heavily
You approach me like the moonlight and talk to me"

"Did you meet her again?"
Eunseok's mother raised her voice, her words dripping with displeasure. Nine-year-old Eunseok shivered, fear creeping up his small frame. He hesitated, knowing the consequences of his actions.

"I just wanted to play," he stammered, his voice barely audible. Soonmi, his mother, clicked her tongue in annoyance, her gaze harsh. "Go and study in your room," she instructed, her tone firm.

Eunseok nodded hastily, knowing better than to disobey. His mother's warning hung in the air: "And I'll be asking you questions. You know the punishment if you don't answer truthfully" The unspoken threat sent shivers down Eunseok's spine.

____

"Bye, Aunty," Jiwon smiled warmly, bidding farewell to Soonmi. Soonmi returned the courtesy, her expression pleasant. However, as soon as the door closed, her demeanor transformed. She turned to her son, Eunseok, her anger palpable.

"Why is she always excelling in academics, and you're not?" Soonmi demanded, her voice laced with disdain. Her scoff cut deep, making Eunseok flinch. He hesitated, sensing the storm brewing.

"I tried," Eunseok replied meekly, his voice barely audible. But his mother would have none of it. "Try harder, then!" she raised her voice, the words stinging.

Eunseok recoiled, feeling the weight of his mother's expectations. The comparison to Jiwon, though unintended, only fueled his frustration. He wondered if he'd ever meet his mother's standards.

____

Eunseok's body shook with uncontrollable sobs as he felt the searing pain of bruises spreading all over his body. His mother's anger had crossed a line, leaving him battered and broken. Tears streamed down his face, mingling with the anguish that threatened to consume him.

The echoes of his mother's harsh words still lingered, piercing his heart like sharp knives. "For this shitty marks I've been raising you for?!" she had yelled, her frustration boiling over. But Eunseok had tried, hadn't he? The pain and confusion swirled within him, making it hard to breathe.

In this moment, Eunseok felt utterly alone, abandoned by the one person who should have protected him. His small frame trembled under the weight of his mother's expectations, the pressure suffocating. The bruises would heal, but the emotional scars would linger.

____

Jiwon noticed a change in Eunseok. "You're acting differently, Eun," she said, concern etched on her face.

Eunseok shook his head, forcing a gentle smile. He playfully ruffled Jiwon's hair, hiding his true emotions. He couldn't reveal his struggles. His darkness would only dim Jiwon's brightness. She was his hope, his solace.

Eunseok cherished Jiwon's innocence. He feared burdening her with his secrets, fearing she'd see him differently.
Would she still care for him if she knew? The uncertainty haunted him.

____

"Cheers to our first mission!" Shotaro exclaimed, his voice echoing through the room as his teammates' laughter filled the air.

Sungchan chimed in, his tone playful, "It wouldn't have been possible without Eunseok." The room's attention shifted to Eunseok, who rolled his eyes good-naturedly, his cheeks flushing slightly. Amidst the teasing, Eunseok felt a deep sense of gratitude. These teammates had become his brothers, a bond forged through shared struggles and triumphs.

In this moment, Eunseok found another sense of solace. Among these individuals, he discovered a sense of belonging he never knew he needed. They became his second family, alongside Jiwon being first, who had been his rock for so long. Together, they shared laughter, victories, and struggles. For the first time, Eunseok felt he truly belonged.

____

Eunseok felt shattered when Jiwon left him. The pain cut deeper than his mother's abuse, leaving scars that wouldn't heal. He had trusted Jiwon implicitly, believing she'd always be there. Her departure felt like an eternal goodbye.

As time passed, his sorrow simmered into anger. Eunseok watched from afar as Jiwon blossomed, her smile radiant among new friends. But he wasn't part of that circle. The ache within him grew, fueled by feelings of abandonment.

He wondered if he'd been just a temporary refuge for Jiwon, a fleeting presence in her life. Eunseok struggled to reconcile the past, his heart heavy with unresolved emotions. The pain he thought had faded now resurfaced.

Years of suppression had taken their toll. Eunseok's anger and hurt now threatened to consume him. He felt lost, unsure how to reconcile his past and present.

Seunghan's brow furrowed in concern as he noticed Eunseok's fatigue. Dark circles under Eunseok's eyes revealed a sleepless night, and his usual vigor seemed diminished.

"Again?" Seunghan asked, his tone laced with empathy, wondering what kept his him awake for another night.

Eunseok nodded curtly, his head throbbing. He clasped his hands over his eyes, as if shielding them from the world. His response was simple, yet telling - the exhaustion was taking its toll. Seunghan's concern deepened, prompting him to ask

"Do we have painkillers?" He knew Eunseok had been relying on them heavily.

"They're all gone" Eunseok replied, his tone flat.
"I've been taking them a lot, bro" The admission only heightened Seunghan's worry. He knew Eunseok's resilience, but this seemed different. The usually stoic Eunseok was showing signs of wear.

"I'll be fine" Eunseok insisted, striding toward the exit. His words belied the strain on his face.

"I just need some fresh air" he added before stepping out, leaving Seunghan sighing in frustration. Seunghan's eyes lingered on the closed door, his mind racing with concerns for his well-being.
