"She's so beautiful"
But she looks at herself
Ten times in the mirror everyday
Wondering
What's wrong with me?
"She has the perfect job"
Yet she would do anything,
Anything,
For a normal job,
If it means she can see her little boy at least once in a day.
"She has the perfect grades"
And she works day and night,
Rejecting invites to hang out with her friends,
Making her parents happy,
Trying to get a well-paid job,
Just for a little 'A' on her college certificate.
"He's so hot"
Which is why he goes to the gym,
Everyday,
Without fail
Just so people would call him 'hot'.
"He is the perfect husband"
And she still went out,
And fornicated with the bartender down the street,
Just because her husband was too perfect.
"He is so strong"
But he still weeps,
Into his satin pillowcases,
Succumbing to the pressures of everyday life.
"They are so selfish"
Because they don't give you the love you need,
Or because you think they don't give you the love you want?
"They should really stop talking"
But she needs his comfort,
Now more than ever,
To find solace,
In the darkest moments of her life.
"This world isn't perfect"
It sure isn't.
But we try.
We try everyday,
We try to make something of ourselves.
We try to give our children the life we couldn't have.
We try to make this world a little more perfect,
Even if it wasn't for us.
