*Audrey's pov*
Diving in the icy water, I swim the fastest I can towards Cassandra's curly hair afar.
It's the only landmark. Her safety vest is nowhere to be seen.
My own jacket lifting me up, I move my legs and my arms, decided. My throat tightens at the thought of Cassandra's last thought.
She probably thought I was the one who pushed her in the water, as we were on a conflict earlier.
Resisting the flow and the cold temperature, I keep diving. The coldness hits me, leaving marks, but I don't bother caring about this for now.
From afar, I can distinguish Eva's voice along with the other campers calling me out, pleading me to come back to them. Am I in danger? Less then Cassandra. For the moment, she is the one that counts.
Since I'm the only one who thought about it, I have to do it. The contrite washes over me, leaving me sheepish in my purple bathing suit.
With an incredible speed, I grip Cassandra's unconscious arm, dragging her towards the shore. Her body weight a ton, her breathing low and steady, but quiet.
Slowly, I pull myself out of the icy lake, bringing Cassandra along with me. I drop her to the floor, sending the group a glance, who are staring at me with judgement.
Anxious, I breathe slowly, enduring the coldness of the water that sticked to my body.

*Cassandra's pov*
My throat dry and my eyelid feeling heavy, I sit up. My breathing is slow as I watch around me, bewildered.
I'm laying on a comfy pink mattress in a small room with black wooden walls. Struggling to maintain my mind, I try to understand what just happened.
Brutally, a shadow walks towards me, with a soft brown skin with deep gaze. Audrey.. I swallow with difficulty, looking at her up and down.
The events come back to me as quickly as light. The kayak, my last day at camp. Finally, my last discussion with Audrey.
The concerned one sits next to me on my bed, her gaze filled with shame but still haughty, with a look that reminds me of a cat ready to jump.
- Reassure me, you didn't push me off this kayak, did you? I ask her in a weak voice, clearing my throat loudly
- No, waves brought you down. I never would've dared. Audrey replicates
I remain silent for a moment, watching her.
- I'm sorry, Cassandra, I never should've insulted you... She apologizes with a soft voice
- No, it's fine. The main point is: Why did you treat me this way? Did I do something wrong?
Audrey sighs and stares at her nail, a nervous habit to her. After a while, she looks at me with a bothered expression.
- I've always been jealous of the attention that the girls of the group gave you... She affirms.
The silence seems to last forever. All of this drama came from jealousy! Starting to feel better, I shift my gaze to her and declare:
- I forgive you, Audrey.
