The sun rose over the ocean, casting a soft golden glow across the beach as the big day finally arrived. Inside the beach house, there was a quiet buzz of excitement as preparations were in full swing. Everyone had their roles to play, but the air felt lighter than the chaotic days leading up to the wedding. Today wasn't about logistics anymore—it was about celebration, love, and the beginning of something incredible.
Jade stood in front of the full-length mirror in her room, adjusting the delicate lace of her dress. The gown was simple yet elegant, with intricate detailing that traced down her back and a flowing train that pooled softly at her feet. Her dark hair was pinned up in loose waves, and she wore a subtle touch of makeup that highlighted her natural beauty. She took a deep breath, steadying herself as the magnitude of the day settled over her.
Behind her, Charlotte, Becky, and Mercedes hovered, ready to help with any last-minute adjustments.
"You look incredible," Charlotte said, her voice filled with awe as she circled Jade, inspecting every detail of the gown. "Bayley's going to lose it when she sees you."
Jade smiled, nerves and excitement swirling in her chest. "I think I'm going to lose it when I see her."
Becky grinned, handing Jade her bouquet of white roses and soft pink peonies. "Well, at least if you do, you'll look stunning doing it."
Mercedes, dressed in a sleek, tailored suit, gave Jade a playful nudge. "And don't forget the real surprise—Snoop's performance during the reception. He's got something special planned, but I'm not spilling the details."
Jade chuckled, still amazed that her wedding would include a performance from the legendary rapper. "I'm just trying to get through the ceremony without tripping on my dress."
The door to the room opened, and Jade's mom poked her head in, tears already glistening in her eyes. "Sweetheart, you look breathtaking. Are you ready? The guests are starting to arrive."
Jade turned to her mother, feeling a rush of emotion. This was it—the moment she'd been anticipating for so long. She nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, I'm ready."
On the other side of the house, Bayley stood in her own room, pacing back and forth in front of a large mirror. Her suit was perfectly fitted—a sleek, modern cut with subtle details that made it uniquely hers. Her hair, always a defining feature, was slicked back into a polished yet casual style. Though she looked calm and composed on the outside, inside, her nerves were a storm.
"Bayley, chill," Mercedes said from the doorway, watching her friend pace with amusement. "You're going to wear a hole in the floor."
"I can't help it," Bayley muttered, adjusting her cufflinks for what felt like the tenth time. "What if I trip? What if I forget my vows? What if she—"
"She's not going to change her mind," Charlotte cut in, her voice firm but kind. "Jade is head over heels for you, and you know it."
Bayley exhaled, finally stopping her pacing. "I know. It's just... I've been through a lot of big matches, a lot of pressure. But this? This is different."
"Yeah," Becky agreed, sitting on the armrest of a nearby chair. "Because this isn't about winning or losing. It's about starting something real. And you've already won with her."
Bayley couldn't help but smile at that, her friends' words grounding her in the moment. She knew they were right. No matter how nervous she felt, this was the day she'd been waiting for—the day she'd start a new chapter with Jade.
"I'm ready," Bayley said softly, her nerves slowly being replaced by excitement.
"Good," Mercedes said with a grin. "Because it's almost showtime."
