Part : 16 Escape

Taehyung stood by the window of Jungkook's luxurious penthouse, staring out at the city skyline but lost deep in thought. His fingers lightly tapped against the window pane, his brows furrowed in frustration. It had been two days since the car-breaking incident, and despite all his efforts to provoke Jungkook, nothing seemed to work. Taehyung sighed, feeling the weight of his situation pressing down on him.

He had tried everything to get under Jungkook’s skin. Smashing the cars was just the beginning---after that, he had gone out of his way to be as irritating as possible. From making snide comments about Jungkook’s work to leaving messes in his otherwise pristine home, Taehyung had hoped something, anything, would push Jungkook to snap. But the man was infuriatingly calm, controlling his anger with such precision that Taehyung began to wonder if he’d ever succeed.

“Four days,” Taehyung muttered under his breath, pacing back and forth in front of the window. “We’ve only been married for four damn days, and I already feel like I’m suffocating.”

The forced marriage had left him trapped, tethered to Jungkook with no visible escape route. He had scoured the internet for solutions, searching for some legal loophole that could set him free. Divorce seemed like the only way out, but his heart sank when he realized that the law required six months of marriage before a divorce could be filed. Six months. There was no way he could survive that long in this suffocating relationship, trapped in a house with a man he despised.

However, as he continued searching for answers, something else had caught his eye. An alternative. An escape route, albeit a darker one.

Taehyung’s lips curved into a small, cynical smile as he recalled what he had found. Domestic abuse. According to the law, if one spouse could prove that they were being abused, they could file for divorce much sooner. Not only that, but the abuser could be arrested and thrown into jail. The thought of Jungkook behind bars, his perfect life crumbling around him, was tempting---delicious, even. But there was a catch. Jungkook didn’t get angry. He never shouted, never raised his voice, no matter how much Taehyung pushed his buttons.

“Damn it,” Taehyung muttered, clenching his fists. “How am I supposed to get him to snap if he won’t even yell at me?”

Jungkook was maddeningly composed, never losing control no matter what Taehyung did. It was as if he was completely immune to Taehyung’s provocations, which only made the situation more unbearable. Taehyung wanted to scream, to break something just to release the frustration building inside him.

But as his gaze drifted to his phone on the bedside table, a new thought began to form in his mind---a more calculated approach. If Jungkook won’t snap on his own, I’ll have to make him.

Taehyung crossed the room, picking up his phone and scrolling through his recent searches. He needed proof. If Jungkook ever did get violent, Taehyung would need hard evidence---something that would hold up in court, something that could destroy Jungkook’s career. Being an actor, Jungkook was constantly in the public eye, and the mere accusation of domestic violence would be enough to ruin his spotless reputation. But without proof, Taehyung knew Jungkook’s wealth and influence would make it difficult to win.

“So, I need to make sure everything is recorded,” Taehyung whispered, a plan slowly taking shape in his mind. He would push Jungkook harder, provoking him until he finally broke. And when that happened, Taehyung would capture it all on video. All he needed was a single instance of violence, and Jungkook’s life would unravel before his eyes.
