A/N I'm aware this is factually incorrect but anyway

This will be talking about the events that happend in Brazil, and if you're not comfortable with that don't read on. RIP Ana 🕊🕊

"So we have to do it?" Taylor asked Tree, only three hours before the concert. The temperatures were dangerously high, however the stadium wouldn't let them cancel.
"I'm afraid so" Tree nodded, her face set.
"Well, make sure everyone has enough water, and no ones getting too hot" Taylor told her firmly.
"Taylor, you take care of yourself. We've got everything else covered" Taylor nodded before leaving the room, needing some time to herself before she had to start getting ready.

She went into her dressing room and laid down on the sofa, her eyes closed and her hands covering them. She took deep breaths, trying to cool down. The shorts and tank top were not enough and in her stuffy dressing room she was way too hot.

There was a knock at the door and Travis entered, having just flown in from Kansas City.
"Hey baby" he greeted Taylor, who hadn't noticed his entrance.
"Trav!" Taylor exclaimed, sitting up and wrapping her arms around him.

"Are you sure you have to do this show? It's not safe" Travis commented worriedly whilst Taylor was getting her makeup done.
"They won't let us cancel, Trees promising to keep all the fans and my team safe" Taylor told him, meeting his eyes in the mirror.
"And you. You need to stay safe; make sure you're drinking lots of water, taking lots of rests and I think I heard Tree mention that they were going to have oxygen masks backstage? And if you feel at all unwell, you need to stop" Travis was serious, he didn't want his girl getting ill.
"I know! I'll be fine" Taylor smiled at him through the mirror, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. This was the most scared she had ever been before a concert; she knew the temperature was unsafe, but there was nothing they could do about it.

Once Travis had been forced into the VIP tent (with a lot of protesting; he wanted to be there to keep Taylor safe but it wasn't possible), Taylor was ready to go on. She waited under the stage as Tree gave her one last nod, before climbing up onto the platform.

The show started off alright, but Taylor could feel the heat the moment she stepped out. By the end of fearless she was exhausted, chugging bottles of water and taking gulps of oxygen as she went to change costumes. She had to help the fans as well as look after herself, and she was getting more and more exhausted by the minute. By 1989 she had reached her max, her body burning at every move, begging her to rest. She almost collapsed in the break after surprise songs but forced herself on, only one more era left. She almost fainted mid way through but managed to catch herself, doing the trick she had been taught many times before.

By the end her body was burning all over, her head pounding and her vision blurring. The stage lowered at the end of karma and she collapsed to the floor, panting heavily. Her team rushed over, one of them pulling off the thick, canvas jacket and another taking her mic and her pack. She lay there in a sweltering heap, unable to move, unable to think.

"Someone get me water! And ice packs! And pay oxygen!" Tree yelled as she rushed over to Taylor, kneeling next to her. She placed a hand on her back, leaning down so she could see Taylor's face. Her eyes were squeezed shut, her bags sticking to her forehead.
"Taylor? Sweetie, it's me. We're going to get you cooled down, okay? You'll feel better soon" She told her quietly, and Taylor just about managed a nod.

"Taylor?!" Travis called as he ran into the backstage area, stopping in his tracks when he saw her crumpled on the floor. He jogged over to her, kneeling down.
"Hey baby" he whispered, rubbing her back.
"Trav" Taylor whimpered, sounding broken.
"Could you lift her to the couch? We need to get her temperature down" Tree asked. Travis nodded, lifting Taylor and cradling her in his arms. He gently set her down on the sofa, placing a pillow beside her head.

Tree placed the oxygen mask over her mouth, attaching it round her head with the elastic. She lifted it briefly for Taylor to take a sip of water and then set it back, placing her bottle to the side. The ice packs were placed on her pulse points; her neck and wrists. Travis dabbed at her forehead with a damp cloth, whispering sweet nothings to keep her calm.

"Im so proud of you Tay. So, so, so proud"

Almost twenty minutes later Taylor was starting to feel a bit better. Her body still ached like hell and she just wanted to go to sleep, but she was able to open her eyes comfortably.
"Lets head back to the hotel, yeah?" Tree asked, and Taylor nodded. She sat up slowly, and with help of Travis she walked out to the car.

Tree frowned as message popped through on her phone. Immediately, she knew she had to tell Taylor. Taylor was staring quietly out the window, watching as the city whizzed by. Travis was next to her, his eyes fixed on the side of her face.

"Hey, Taylor?" Tree broke the silence, and Taylor looked up expectantly.
"Yeah?" She asked, her voice a bit sore from all the singing.
"Um, something has happened" Tree knew that no matter what, Taylor was going to be devastated. Taylor loved her fans, and always felt personally responsible whenever anything happened to any of them.
"A fan, her named was Ana, unfortunately passed before the show due to heat stroke. I'm sorry" she watched as the colour drained from Taylor's face, as Travis grabbed her hand, squeezing it tightly.

Taylor turned away, resting her head on the window. She let her tears fall in a steady stream as she watched the world go by, the world which that beautiful fan was no longer a part of. And it was all her fault.

Travis wrapped one of his arms around her shoulders, squeezing her arm.
"It's not your fault baby, you did all that you could" he whispered in her ear, but she didn't answer.

As soon as they got back she went straight to her room, showering and getting into bed. Travis was about to follow but Tree pulled him back, lowering her voice.
"Can you make sure she's okay? She's not handling it well, and she's usually really hard on herself with stuff like this" Travis nodded and with a goodbye he made his way up to their room.

When he entered he found Taylor fast asleep, the duvet abandoned to one side; evidently she was too hot. Travis had a quick shower and then climbed into bed next to her, wrapping his arms around her body and pressing a kiss to her head.

"I love you" he whispered.
