Priorities change because people's preferences shift as they do. We choose to stay normal, but we can't help it; when someone else changes, everything in our world can feel painful. Some people are more afraid of the impact of changing priorities than of losing their lives, because when others' priorities shift, it can feel like a part of us dies. Human nature leads us to get bored easily. We are not saints; we often play the villain in someone else's story. Yet, at the same time, we can also be a savior without even realizing it. What we need to remember is that we are all human, with humanity. When we think we feel nothing, it might be because our hearts are in so much pain that we no longer know how to feel.
