"Hello, Father-in-law! You visite—pwack!" Luke immediately vomited everything in his stomach the moment a punch landed on his stomach, "as usual. You intensely love me, Father-in-law! "

Still shamelessly announcing such words when the vermillion dragon was snarling at him.

"It's your fault, you stupid sloth." Rhae snarled, crackling his fist in great annoyance.

Luke simply smiled and sat on his chair. All of his men remained silent even though their lord was beaten up by the handsome redhead man.

"Jour found her stupid crush."

"Oh?" Luke grinned shittily. His baby girl sure had her love life cut out for her.

"Don't smile, stupid sloth. Let me tell you it's the same as Tara's."

"..."

"Get out." Luke immediately ordered his men to leave. Now, only he and Rhae remained inside the office. Rhae took the liberty to silence the entire room and look at him.

"Deruth Henituse."

"Huh?"

"He is Jour's fated one," Rhae solemnly said, "the fate that will take her life away."

"But I thought my bloodline could prevent the curse from returning. Why? Just why her?"

"Not her..." Rhae replied, "The child will be born from their union."

Luke remained silent.

"Did Tara know?" he asked.

"No... only my family and you, know." Rhae said.

"Will you tell Jour?" Luke asked.

"I don't know." Rhae replied, "It's not my place to tell her at all. I am merely her grandpa, not her parent. My duty is to protect and love her."

Gene got the Dragon's Blood in him, while Jour had all the drawbacks. Luke couldn't think of anything. He just let out a sigh and shook his head.

"I'll talk to Tara." Luke said, "I'm sure... Jour will understand as well."

Luke and Rhae knew that no matter how much they tried to stop Jour, they couldn't stop her heart from yearning for someone.

"Why of all my traits... Why did she have to take after my foolishness?" Luke said. He was preparing for all sorts of things but with how the Dragon told him, it's either Jour or her child will die. To prevent that, Jour must remain alone for the rest of her life.

That's the best choice.

The very best choice.

And yet...

"There's nothing wrong with falling in love." Rhae said, "After all, it's mine and Cale's fault."

Their children have to go through hell for that sin.

"Luke."

Luke stared at the dragon. It's the first time this man has ever called his name.

"No matter what happens." Rhae solemnly said, "I want you to be a good spouse and father to your family."

Don't be like me. It was left unsaid.
