Gundam Build Competitors

Episode 1

Narrator: In the near future, a new sport has emerged that has taken the world by storm: the Gundam Build Competitors Tournament. A remote island is selected as the stage for the competition, where the world's top builders and fighters compete in a unique combination of skill and creativity.

Leo: (happily) Wow! I can't believe I'm finally going to the island where the tournament will be held. I've been waiting for this day for so long!

(voice-over): My name is Leo Kurasu. I'm a middle school student who's also an avid Gundam fan. It's my dream to be a Gunpla master and show my skills in this tournament.

Yua: (teasingly) Oh, Leo, don't tell me you're still obsessed with the original series.

Leo: Ah, Yua. You're here, too? I thought you preferred the older series.

Yua: Well, yeah, but I've been doing a lot of research on the history of Gundam, and I can appreciate the fresher entries, too.

Leo (voice-over): That girl right behind me is Yua Yumiko. She's my childhood friend and rival in the Gunpla world. We've been building and battling together for years.

Yua: Do you want to eat together? We can compare notes on our plans for the tournament.

Leo: Sounds like a great idea. I'm really excited about this tournament. It's going to be a challenge, but I'm ready to show what I can do.

Yua: What's the Gundam you're customizing?

Leo: It's a modified OZ-06MS Leo. I've added a few new weapons and changed the color scheme.

Yua: Huh, that's a popular one. I can see why. It's... versatile and it has your name. Literally.

Leo: Tell me the one you mostly use.

Yua: Well, I'm using a modified Strike Freedom. I've updated the design and added some new features, like a new energy blade and some additional thrusters.

Leo: That's an amazing choice. I've seen some videos of you in action. You're so skilled and creative.

Yua: You're not so bad yourself, Leo.

Leo's father, who's a retired gunpla builder, comes over to greet Yua. He's come to see her off, and he's a little teary-eyed.

Leo: Dad, please. It's not like we're going to war like in the original series.

Yua: I'll take care of your son, Mr. Kurasu. Don't worry.

Eiken: (whispering) Good luck, Yua. I've always known you're the better fighter.

Yua: Thanks, Mr. Kurasu. Well, let's train a little bit while we're at it.

Eiken: Yes, please do. I want my son to bring home that trophy.

Yua: I won't let him down.

They went to the park near their house and set up a little arena.

Yua: Are you ready, Leo?

Leo: As ready as I'll ever be.

They launched their Gunpla and started fighting. Leo made his first move by using the beam rifles on his Gundam.

Yua: That's not going to work on me.

She dodged his attack and countered with her beam saber.

Leo: Nice one, but I have something else for you.

He switched to his bazooka and shot at her. She blocked the attack with her shield and rushed at him.

Yua: Ha, you're going down!
