Slowly, Mingyu began to catch glimpses of the real Wonwoo. A smile, a laugh, a hint of wildness. Wonwoo was not an omega content to sit for hours doing needlework. He needed to move, whether that was horse riding, walking, or racing headlong down the beach as fast as he could run. There was such joy in Wonwoo in those moments.

And when Mingyu joined in the fun, those bright eyes and that smile would be trained full force on him, all but bowling him over. He did not detract from Wonwoo's happiness. He multiplied it.

Each day of their courting was a little different. They visited every side of the island, Mingyu showing Wonwoo all the places he loved and all the places he thought the omega would enjoy. Every day involved a hike, a swim, or a ride. All three, if they could manage it. They ate every meal together with the cook happy to cater to their wanderings and the odd hours they kept.

With each passing week, Wonwoo grew stronger. His face gradually lost the gaunt look it had held, and Mingyu could see hints of muscle in his arms and legs. When the omega slept, he slept soundly, but he woke with the sun, eager to join Mingyu for the day ahead.

Their two-month anniversary was quickly approaching, and Mingyu had idly earmarked that date for their true wedding night. It was obvious the omega was eager, even impatient, to explore the physical side of their relationship. If anything, Mingyu was the one holding them back. Not for lack of want on his part, either. At times, it was maddening to have to restrain himself. But in another way, that was half the fun.

They sat in the courtyard, stretched out on blankets under the shade of an acacia tree. Mingyu was reading a book, but Wonwoo had abandoned his in favor of watching the clouds. He'd been restless all morning and kept stealing glances when he thought Mingyu wasn't looking.

Mingyu set his book aside and gave Wonwoo his full attention.

"Come here," he urged, sitting up.

Wonwoo all but leaped into his embrace, and Mingyu moved them both, shifting to sit with his back to the tree's trunk as he set Wonwoo in his lap.

"What is it?" he asked, seeking Wonwoo's eyes as he rested his hands on the omega's shoulders.

Wonwoo shrugged, biting down on his lower lip. "It's nothing."

Mingyu raised an eyebrow and waited for him to speak again.

The omega made a soft sound of frustration. "I don't know. I just feel... restless. It's... it's better when I'm with you."

"With me?" Mingyu teased, running his hands down Wonwoo's back. "Or when my hands are on you?"

Wonwoo flopped forward with a groan, resting his forehead against Mingyu's chest.

"Don't let go," he pleaded.

"Never," Mingyu promised and pressed a kiss to Wonwoo's temple.

Wonwoo lifted his head, and their lips met. The first kiss was sweet and chaste, but at Wonwoo's whimper of need, Mingyu slid one hand to the nape of the omega's neck and splayed the other across his back, holding Wonwoo to him as he deepened the kiss.

The omega's lips parted, and Mingyu pressed his tongue between them, tasting him. He let himself get lost in their embrace, the sweet scent of his beloved surrounding him.

Wonwoo broke the kiss and leaned over to whisper in his ear.

"I want our wedding night, Mingyu. Please."

"Right now? Or can you wait until the sun has set?" he teased.

Wonwoo bit his lip and flushed.

"I can be patient a little longer, I suppose."
