Beep, beep, beep!

Eddie groaned tiredly, the beeping of his alarm startling him awake.
He rolled over on his side and reached his hand over to cut his alarm clock off.

Beep, beep, b-

Blinking open his tired eyes, he read the glowing red numbers on his alarm clock.

6:31am.

Eddie sighed heavily, uncovering his body from his navy blue blanket and dragging himself out of bed.
His feet met the softness of his bedroom carpet and he sat on his bed for a while, rubbing his eyes.

It was the first day of 11th grade for Eddie, and he knew what that would mean for him. More stress, more all-nighters, more bullying, and more of Richie's dumb jokes.

Richie.

Finally Eddie sat up and opened his door and headed to the bathroom to pee.
His mother wasn't awake yet, but Eddie knew she would be soon to make him breakfast and give him a kiss goodbye, and would of course remind him not to forget his inhaler and pills, and to not participate in any physical activity or use the bathrooms at school, or drink out of the water fountains.

After relieving himself and washing his hands thoroughly, he returned to his bedroom and opened up his blinds, hissing as bright sunlight met his eyes.
After adjusting his eyes to the brightness, he turned around to read his clock again.

6:42am.

He still had an hour and twenty minutes before school started, so he took his time deciding what to wear.
Finally he settled on a baby blue polo shirt and bright red shorts.

After folding up his pajamas and getting dressed, he walked downstairs to where his mother was now awake and cooking eggs and bacon.

"Good morning, Eddie-Bear. Did you sleep okay?" Eddie's mother asked him as he sat down at the kitchen table.

God, he fucking hated the nickname his mother would call him.

"Yeah, ma." He muttered, resting his head in his hand.

Finally after a few minutes, his mother placed his breakfast in front of him, and Eddie had to admit, while he could hate how controlling his mother was and how strict she was, at least she was a very good cook.

He quickly ate his two sunny side up eggs and his three pieces of bacon and set his plate in the sink.

"You ate that quick." His mother commented from where she sat in her recliner in the living room.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I just wanna hurry up and get to school, Ma." It wasn't a lie either, he did want to get to school so he could see the losers. Bill, Beverly, Stan, Ben, Richie.

Richie.

"Next time eat more slowly, if you eat too fast you could choke."

Eddie ignored his mothers concerns and instead returned upstairs to brush his teeth and put all his school supplies in his backpack.

Finishing with the two tasks, he looked at his alarm clock again.

7:16am, it read.

School would start at eight, so he quickly checked that he had everything, including his fannypack, pills, and inhaler.

Eddie ran downstairs and grabbed the doorknob, but just as he was about to head out the door, his mother stopped him.

"Eddie, aren't you forgetting something?"

Eddie let out a low agitated groan and slowly walked over to his mother and planted a small kiss onto her cheek.

"Okay, bye, love you." He told her curtly and exited the door and hopped onto his bike and rode to school, hoping he would still be able to meet up with all the losers. Especally Richie.
