The abyss is a broken land, created from the death of a nation. Thousands of lives lost, and the ones that didn't turned into monsters. Even the ones that somehow keep some humanity still killed without mercy under the order of Her Majesty. The person the god that they had trusted to bring peace back to the land they once held so dear.

Her Majesty was kind but had also grown cold in the centuries in the abyss. The only ones that had the pleasure of seeing a kinder side of the princess were the seven warriors she kept close to her heart. The warriors that were tasked to slaughter the abyss hordes and mages were deemed to be worthless. They were heartless never caring for anything but themselves and each other.

So when the child with the bright orange hair and eyes as blue as the Teyvat sky fell into the abyss it was no surprise when one of the abyss warriors were sent to 'take care' of the child causing such a stir. What did come as a surprise was when the warrior of wrath returned from the trip with the child still alive in her arms. The child quickly became an important figure in the warrior hearts. A child that quickly became a killer like the people that raised him. Though they reeked of blood and death, the child continued to smell like tangerines.

A pair of leather boots and a pair of heels walked through the endless snow of Snezhnaya. Two warriors, lovers, abyss monsters, whatever it is that you call them different matters much to them. They were the oldest warriors, they had been on the front line when their nation fell, they were the first to join her Majesty army, and now they were the first to visit the 8th warrior that had injured himself. The abyss warrior of melancholy to them, to others he was the Tsaritsa Vanguard, The eleventh Fatui Harbinger, Tartaglia, Childe, Ajax.

So many different names for one person, but it didn't matter to Maple or Atlas. It has been many centuries in the abyss since they were able to see the child they had claimed as their own. This place was a land of snow, ice, and suffering in their eyes a place that no one should call home. Even if it was hypothetical for them to think that since their own home was the abyss.

"Maple, love, do you smell that?" Atlas asked her wife as soon as the faint smell of tangerine hit her nose. Maple looked back at Atlas "No. But you have a better nose than me, so I'm sure I'll smell it soon." Atlas smiled her fox ears flattening slightly, "Right... sorry love. I'm just so excited. It's been too long since we've seen our child." "Ha, I know. We don't have to wait long because I smell it now as well."

The fire blazed in the fireplace a very different contract to the cold land outside. Childe sat in an arm chair not far from the fire, his sister had gone out not too long ago with their brother in hopes of finding something to help spread up his recovery. Not by her own wishes, but of their father who had started to complain that he wasn't back to work already. Though he has already recovered 'perks' of being a child of the abyss now. Though he won't admit it, it would cause more than a few heads to turn on how he recovered so quickly. Even for someone like him. He also didn't need the Doctor to have one more reason to try and convince The Tsaritsa to strip him of his title and let him experiment on him."

The slice was broken by a loud knock on the door. Ajax had originally planned to just ignore it thinking it was someone looking for his family member. But he's plan changed when a familiar honey sweet voice filled his ears. One that he'd had heard since he was a child, a person he had forgotten the face of. But he never forgot the promise that was made. "Little Warrior, you open the door for your mother's, won't you?"

The door was almost torn off its hinges by the force of how the door was thrown open. "Geez kid, you've gotten tall." Maple said looking at Ajax, though they were the same height she never met any human that was as tall as all her. A thought passed her mind that Ajax wasn't really a human anymore so it makes sense why he's grown so tall.

"Ajax, my baby. Come here and give your mom a hug." "Wait- I didn't agree-" she was cut off by the boy pulling both of them into a tight hug. Which Atlas happily returned though Maple awkwardly parted him on the back. It was comforting in a way that none of them were used to. A smell of tangerine and blood mixed together. For most it would probably be disgusting, but who cares? The abyss is a broken land and all those that are children of the abyss are bound to be as broken as it is.
