A boy sat in an alleyway, crying. He had found a shard from a broken mirror and was now bringing it down on his wrist. A girl, invisible to him, watched, thinking of how to approach the situation. Her wings were visible, three sets of golden wings with purple tips. She was the archangel Gabriel's twin sister. Guardian angel to all depressed youth. She crouched in front of the boy, hiding her wings. She hadn't done this since, well... since she stopped a young girl from committing suicide.
The girl thought hard, and she became visible to the boy. "Nonono, don't do that," she told him, startling him by grabbing the shard out of his hands and chucking it further into the alley. He sobbed more, now that his only comfort was gone, or was it? The girl pulled him into a hug, patting his head and whispering comforting words in his ear. When he finally seemed to calm down, the girl pulled away from the hug a little bit, holding his shoulders. She sent him a small smile of comfort. "I'm Hannah, who are you?" she asked.
The boy had just met her, but he already seemed to trust her. "Bruce Wayne," he responded, his voice cracking, because he thought back to his parents. Hannah nodded.
"Do you wanna tell me what happened to lead you to do that?" She asked, gesturing to his wrists. Bruce shook his head, and Hannah nodded again. "That's alright, but give me your wrists," Bruce hesitantly held his wrists out. Hannah concentrated, holding her hands above Bruce's. She blinked and her eyes glowed a light purple, Bruce jumped, but didn't move his wrists, curious. A golden hue appeared around Bruce's wrists and soon he felt no pain, and there was nothing where the cuts were.
"Who... or w-what are you?" he asked. Hannah sighed.
"I am Hannah Novak, an archangel of the lord, guardian angel to all depressed, and now, you, for life," she said. God had decided that whoever she revealed herself to every 100 years she would be guardian angel to. Bruce looked at her with wide eyes. "I'll be watching over you, now, there's an orphanage a couple blocks from here, go there, they'll take care of you, they're nice," Bruce nodded, giving Hannah a hug before running off. Hannah smiled, she liked this boy.
Hannah watched Bruce grow up, become an established business man, become Batman, and form a team, she visited him twice every week, except when he was on long missions, he didn't want anyone but Clark knowing about her yet. Yet.
