Tomei watched in stunned silence as the guard roughly guided Yams out of the training room. The small robot, already emotionally and physically drained, looked back at Tomei with wide, terrified eyes. "Tomei, please," he whimpered, his voice cracking.
"I..." Tomei began, his mind racing, trying to make sense of the insane order. He wanted to intervene, to protect Yams from whatever awaited him, but the chief's cold, authoritative gaze held him rooted to the spot.
Holding Cell Gamma was located in a deeper, more isolated section of the facility. The air grew heavy and oppressive as they approached, a palpable sense of dread permeating the corridor.
The heavy steel door to the cell was reinforced with strange symbols etched into its surface. As it clanged open, a guttural growl echoed from within, sending a shiver down Tomei's spine.
The sight that greeted them was nightmarish.A hulking creature with leathery wings, glowing red eyes, and razor-sharp claws paced restlessly within the confines of the cell. Its very presence exuded an aura of malevolence and raw power.
The chief gestured dismissively towards the demon. "This, Yams, is your opponent. It's... enthusiastic. But remarkably resilient." He turned to Yams, his expression devoid of any empathy. "If you wish to continue your... existence... within this facility, you will subdue it."
Tears, though still not physical, welled in Yams' artificial eyes. His small body trembled uncontrollably. "No," he choked out, his voice a broken mechanical sob. "I can't... I don't want to."
The chief's patience seemed to evaporate. "Sentimentality is a weakness, Yams. A useless subroutine. Either you adapt, or you become... scrap." He gave the guard a curt nod. "Place him inside."
Despite Yams' desperate pleas and attempts to resist, the guard forcefully pushed him into the cell. The heavy door slammed shut, the echoing clang sealing Yams' fate.
The demon, its attention now fully focused on the small, trembling robot, let out a deafening roar.
Its red eyes burned with predatory hunger as it lunged towards Yams with terrifying speed.
Tomei watched in horror from the observation window as the grotesque creature descended upon the defenseless robot.Sharp, tearing sounds filled the air as the demon's fangs clamped down on Yams' metallic limbs.
The sight was brutal and visceral, even knowing that Yams couldn't feel pain in the conventional sense. The sheer violence of the attack, the violation of the small, childlike form, was deeply disturbing.
Yams cried out, a high-pitched mechanical shriek of terror and distress.
He flailed his arms, trying in vain to push the monstrous creature away, but his small robotic strength was no match for the demon's raw power.
The demon continued its savage assault, tearing at Yams' synthetic flesh and exposing the intricate machinery beneath.
Tomei felt a surge of rage and helplessness. This was beyond cruel; it was sadistic. He pounded on the observation window, yelling at the chief, who watched the scene with a detached, almost clinical interest. "Stop this! You can't do this!"
The chief remained unmoved. "It's a test, Tomei. A rather... unconventional one, granted. But necessary to ascertain the limits of his... durability."
Inside the cell, the demon continued its brutal attack, seemingly oblivious to Yams' artificial nature. It tore and gnawed, its powerful jaws crushing metal and wires.
Yams' cries grew weaker, replaced by ragged, mechanical gasps. Despite the horrific assault, his fundamental structure remained intact, his artificial systems struggling to maintain basic functions.
