The day we met was a day I will never forget, even though at first it seemed like any other day. I was standing in the lobby of the BAU building, watching the numbers on the elevator as they slowly ascended. My nerves were on edge. It was my first day on the team, and while I was excited for the new challenge, I couldn't help but feel a little anxious. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself before the doors opened on the floor where my new professional life would begin.

When the doors finally slid open with a soft beep, I saw you for the first time. You were sitting at your desk, completely absorbed in what appeared to be a case file. You were wearing a dark sweater that contrasted with the glow of your computer screen, and the slight clutter of papers on your desk seemed somehow meticulously organized, as if everything had its place amidst the chaos.

I felt a small knot in my stomach, a strange nervousness that I hadn't experienced in a long time. I couldn't help but stare at you a little longer than was socially acceptable, as if something about you had caught my eye from the first moment. My heart was beating a little faster than normal, and I forced myself to shake my head to clear it. I had to focus on my first day and not get carried away by out-of-place thoughts.

I walked towards you with a smile that I hoped didn't seem forced. I extended my hand somewhat shyly.

"Hi, I'm the new agent, Konner," I said, trying to sound confident, although inside I felt a little self-conscious.

You looked up from your papers and stared at me for a second, as if evaluating who this stranger who had just arrived was. However, what surprised me wasn't your scrutiny, but your response.

"Hi, I'm Dr. Spencer Reid," you said with a serious expression. Then, you looked down at my outstretched hand, without moving yours. "Did you know that the amount of pathogens transmitted during a handshake is staggering?"

My smile faltered a little, but I tried to remain calm. Your comment took me by surprise, but I couldn't help but find it... curious. I lowered my hand slowly, as you raised yours in a distant greeting.

"It's safer to kiss, actually," you added with a barely perceptible smile, before returning your attention to the papers on your desk.

I stood for a moment, digesting what you had just said. I smiled to myself, finding the combination of scientific data and your obvious discomfort with common social gestures fascinating. It was something... different. And different, to me, had always been a good thing.

"Nice to meet you, Dr. Reid," I replied, trying to sound as professional as I could as I put my hand in my pocket.

I walked into the office of Hotch, my new supervisor. I knocked on the door, exchanged a few words with him, but my mind kept going back to you. I wondered what else was behind that first impression. Though I didn't know until later, when I walked away from your desk, you followed me with your eyes. Garcia, with his usual ability to pick up on everything, told me later that you had smiled slightly and even blushed a little as you watched me leave. When he told me this, I couldn't help but smile too, though at the time I didn't understand why the idea of you looking at me made me feel that way.

The first meeting with the team was more intimidating than I expected. Everyone was there: Hotch, Prentiss, Morgan, JJ, and of course, you. I walked into the room feeling everyone's gaze on me, but somehow my eyes only sought yours. And there you were, sitting at the end of the table, with your notebook in one hand and a pen in the other, ready to take notes or make those little doodles that, as I later discovered, you sometimes did when you wanted to concentrate.

I decided to sit next to you, although I wondered if it would be the right thing to do. Something about you attracted me, not in a romantic way at the moment, but in a way I couldn't explain. I felt like there was something I needed to discover, something that drove me to want to know more about you.
