"Edwards, please wake up" said my H.F.L.E teacher, Ms. Laing as she walked between the row that I and 1 of my besties, Teanna sat in and the other row with another best friend of mine, Jayda.

I didn't reply, I just sat up and rubbed my eyes, still feeling a bit sleepy.

I looked behind me to see Teanna, who was looking quite sad.

"Yuh alright?"

She nodded and later looked over to Jayda who sat beside her. Jayda smiled at her, but Tēa didn't return the smile.

I sat there looking at the whiteboard to see if I missed anything important and what would it be. Expectedly, she was only teaching about emotions, how to control them and how to communicate without hurting people's feelings.

I made an attempt to go back to sleep since there was nothing interesting or anything new to learn in H.F.L.E today.

"Azaria Edwards..." called the teacher as I laid down "take up your head!"

"But miss...waah di sense we write out dis an a the same thing yuh keep on a teach we every week?" I asked, trying not to make my annoyance evident.

The whole class were chanting "exactly " and "a dat mi a seh tuh!", so they obviously agreed.

"Young lady, do my work or leave my class" she said.

I took up my bag as I was ready to leave the class but she then looked at me an told me to sit back down because I would have her pleasure to write me a detention.

I slide down in my seat, looking devastatingly annoyed with this lady. I hissed my teeth and rolled my eyes out of sheer anger and then put my head in my hand, feeling ever so sleepy.

"Big back Tyrese pass mi money. Mi know a you teef eh" said a girl, Shana-Lee to Teanna's ex.

I couldn't help but laugh because him teef suh till. Plus him always stink. Well, not always, a since Tēa leff him, him start smell suh. Look like eh breakup get to him head an mad him. Eh bwoy all teef Tēa pad Dem out a har bag an har geometry set.

Nuh know him limited man...

"Yuh si mi wid yuh money?" Asked Tyrese.

I suddenly felt a piercing stare at me, and I knew who it was.

Mi cyaa Tek Dem Pitney yah inuh. A literally the funniest friend group dis yah yuh rass!

Turning around to Jayda's direction, she started to laugh so hard, I started laughing too. Ofc a she did a look pah mi!!

Anytime something funny happen inna di class, mnk how, but if Jayda a look pah mi, mi can tell. And if mi a laugh an she look pah mi, she a laugh too. An if she a laugh an mi look pan har, a eh same thing. That's why a lot of people say there's a duo in the quartet. But Teanna an India act just like we.

H.F.L.E was the last class for the day and school was soon to be over, it was just 9 minutes till three o'clock.

I took my sour dip candy from my bag and them open it. I only wanted the lollipop itself, not the powder. So I took out the lollipop and gave the remainings to Tēa since she didn't like anything but the powder.

Watching as the class empties of the many students, I sat there waiting for India, And Jayda to finish writing the notes off the board.

Teanna was already finished, but miss had my H.F.L.E book, so I didn't do any writing. Ms. Laing was still in the class. She said she wasn't leaving until all the books were marked, including India and Jayda's book.

I packed my bag, ready to leave until dis big face ooman come start wid mi.

"Edwards, I want my work"

"Miss, mi nuh ave di book, somebody deh a bay a wait fi mi, an mi fren Dem will send mi the notes"

"I don't care about your friends. The activity is graded, young lady "

"Okay then, old lady"

I and Tēa went outside and waited for India And Jayda. They were soon finished and were getting their books marked.

After I left the school compound with my friends, I stopped at the taxi stand, getting a taxi not long after.

I gave the taxi driver his fare, opened my grill, got into the house and closed back the grill behind myself.

At the house, I called to see if mom was there, but it seems as if she was still at work.
