Zelda looked at the letter Link had received while Link picked out an outfit to wear.
He took out his blue tunic when Zelda shook her head.
"No, that's what you always wear. You want something fancy?"
Link rolled his eyes and opened his closet, motioning for her to pick out an outfit.
Zelda hummed and looked through his clothes before her eyes fell on a crop top.
"Link, what's this?" She smirked as she took out the outfit he wore to Gerudo.
Link's eyes widened and he flushed red, quickly taking it from her and shoving it deep into a drawer.
Zelda giggled and Link glared at her.
"What?! I'm just curious at why you have that!"
Link grumbled and Zelda searched his closest before finding nothing suitable for the occasion.
"Well...at least you have a couple masks." She muttered.
Link smiled and put on the Lynnel hat, to which Zelda sighed.
"Link, please tell me you're not going to wear that."
Link smirked and Zelda shook her head disappointedly.
-
When they arrived at The Zore Kingdom, Zelda stepped out of the carriage wearing her pink dress that fell down to her ankles and parted at her knees so you could see her tall, heeled boots that made her a couple inches taller than Link. She had a Korok leaf mask on, thinking it would be very cute and show her love for the forest spirits.
Link followed her, wearing the Vah Ruta mask he acquired on his travels. As much as Zelda wanted him to wear a suit, she eventually caved and let him wear his favorite sweater and his normal cloak and pants.
The castle was bustling with people and cheerful music, everyone seemed happy as the month full of fright was fading away.
The blood moons were always twice as strong during October, but no one really knew why. There was little knowledge about the red moon, and most had assumed it a curse that Ganon had brought upon this world. But now that Ganon was gone, it hadn't done any real damage to anyone besides make people scared.
Some see it as a message showing that Ganon was now gone and his light will never hurt us again, but others say it shows us how despite him being gone, the destruction will never be forgotten.
Link hadn't ever put much thought into it, and now that he had time to spare until Zelda's new destiny started, he mostly just tossed around the thought a bit.
But it doesn't really matter, as long as the people are safe.
Link looked over at Zelda, who was talking happily with a couple of the guests, seeming excited for her story to unfold in a couple of days.
"Hey Link!"
Link jumped when he felt someone pick him up and he laughed as Sidon hugged him.
"How's it been?" Sidon asked, propping Link up on his shoulder.
Link laughed and shrugged, conveying the message that he was fine.
Sidon smiled and put Link back down. He took a close look at his mask and his smile faltered a bit.
"That's a uh- interesting mask you got there."
Link's eyes widened and he felt ashamed for not thinking twice about his mask choice.
Dammit I should've paid more attention to Zelda's speeches about outfits.
"Sorry." He mumbled in a quiet voice.
Sidon's eyes widened when he heard his friend speak and he smiled.
"It's okay, it looks kinda cool to be honest. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little curious about the beast." Sidon said, walking towards the courtyard.
Link followed and the two leaned on the railing, staring out into the vast waters which held so many memories.
"I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for the Zora, Link." Sidon smiled down at Link.
Link blushed a bit and broke eye contact, his cheeks flushed red beneath his mask.
"It's really an honor that I can call such a fearless hero my friend, you mean much to me and my people." Sidon turned around and looked up at the giant statue that stood tall and strong.
The blood moon casted a light upon the porcelain, making the normal blue have an eerie red glow.
Sidon frowned before sighing.
"At least all the fear will be over tomorrow." Sidon said, his eyes shining in the moonlight.
Link nodded slowly and Sidon put a hand on his shoulder.
"I may not know where your next adventure takes you, but I hope that our friendship will last." Sidon said, "And I wish you and Princess Zelda luck in hopefully bringing these dreadful nights to an end."
Link smiled and he nodded, filled with determination.
"Come now, let us share a dance to close this night." Sidon held out his hand and Link held the embrace as they walked back into the castle.
Sidon smiled, too caught up in the moment to hear how the darkness seemed to grow quiet as the statue shined brightly.
So to those of you curious at what I mean at the end, the Devine Beast Vah Ruta theme is what I was listening to.
When you play it with headphones on, you can hear how one side has this calming theme and the other is more eerie. This represents Mipha and Ganon and I found it so beautiful.
Honestly the music in the games are so well thought out and planned.
Have fun tricking and treating, watching horror movies, going to fun parties, or whatever you guys normally do on Halloween! Try not to get a stomach ache or any cavities, and have fun dressing up!!
