The weekend arrived, and Olivia found herself pacing her room, anxiety bubbling beneath the surface. Today was the day she had decided to introduce the idea of her relationship with Henry to her dad, Chris. After spending so much time with him and sharing that magical kiss, she felt like she was on top of the world, but the thought of how her dad might react made her nervous.

"Olivia, honey! Dinner's ready!" Jen called from the kitchen, interrupting her thoughts.

"Coming!" she responded, bracing herself mentally. As she headed down the hallway, she saw Henry leaning against the kitchen counter, chatting with her mom. The sight of him sent butterflies flitting through her stomach.

"Hey, you!" Henry greeted, a charming smile lighting up his face. His wavy blond hair fell just right over his forehead, making him look effortlessly handsome.

"Hi!" she said, her heart warming at the sight of him.

"Everything okay?" he asked, sensing her nerves.

Olivia bit her lip and shrugged. "I'm just... worried about how Dad will react to us."

"I can tell," Henry said softly, his eyes serious yet kind as he stepped closer. "Look, I know it can be daunting, but I promise I'll handle it. You don't have to worry about me. Your dad and I will have an honest talk."

"Are you sure?" Olivia replied, her heart racing. "It's just... he can be a bit gruff about things."

Henry placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Trust me, Liv. I respect your dad, and if it makes you feel better, I'll talk to him directly. Just give me a chance."

Soothed by his calm confidence, Olivia nodded, but still felt a flutter of anxiety. "Okay, but if he gets weird about it, just know I'm here for you."

"Always," Henry said, flashing her that warm smile that always made her heart skip a beat. "Just focus on enjoying dinner. We'll tackle this together."

Fortified by his reassurance, they joined Jen and Chris at the dining table, the atmosphere light and inviting. As they ate, laughter filled the room, easing Olivia's worries, but she felt her heart race again as the moment of truth drew nearer.

Once they finished the meal, Jen excused herself to bring out dessert. Seizing the opportunity, Henry turned to Chris, looking serious but poised. "Mr. Rodrigo, may I talk to you for a moment?"

"Sure," Chris replied, his expression shifting slightly as he gestured to the side of the room. "What's on your mind?"

Olivia held her breath, feeling both proud and terrified as she watched Henry step up to her dad.

"Olivia and I have been spending a lot of time together, and I wanted to tell you that we've decided to be boyfriend and girlfriend," Henry said, his voice steady but respectful.

Chris raised an eyebrow, his face a mask of contemplation. "Boyfriend and girlfriend, huh?" he repeated, a hint of precaution lacing his tone.

"Yes, sir. I care about her a lot, and I promise to treat her right," Henry continued, maintaining eye contact. "I know you're protective, and I completely understand."

Chris crossed his arms, his brows slightly furrowed. "I appreciate that, Henry, but you must be aware that dating can be serious. Olivia is my daughter, and I just—"

"I understand," Henry interjected, holding his ground respectfully. "I'd want someone to do the same for their daughter. She means a lot to me, and I want to keep her happy."

Chris's expression wavered for a moment, caught between pride and concern. "You and Olivia have spent time together, and I respect that. But everything I've done has been to protect my daughter."
