Three

The dance was perfect we were in our world starting in each other's eyes lost in the moment it wasn't till the song ended that we snapped back to reality and parted leaving zero behind I headed to the open window ledge. I stood with my hands on the bannisters closing my eyes and feeling the chill breeze on my face through my hair as a newly formed tear escaped falling down my cheeks wiping it away. Still, then the illusion of Kaname showing up holding his hand out like he was asking for a dance left me smiling with happiness and sadness whispered "I miss you.."

Hearing footsteps coming towards me, I turned my head towards them to my surprise it was Ai as the last i saw her she was talking with Takuma and Hanabusa she seemed to enjoy talking with them both these days and wondered why she looked so sad now when she was smiling and yelling a few seconds ago. 

"what's the matter Ai?  what's got you feeling down? anything i can do to help ?" yuki asks.

"i should be asking you that Mother " Ai said looking at the sky and then back at Yuki.

" A child shouldn't be burdening them with their parent's troubles besides i just felt sad for a moment I'm alright now AI " yuki said trying to pressure her daughter whilst trying to comfort herself that she was fine.

"Mother you know I'm not a child no longer so tell me " 

"i know you not you and Ren both grew up too quickly no time frogeing your paths in the world the pair of you I'm happy i guess I'm just feeling lonely at the thought ." yuki said whilst looking up at the stars trying to sound like her usual self even a little cant spoil this night for everyone at least . Ai wasn't confident she knew there was something more still but did not want to push it so she simply said "We may not be little kids anymore but Ren and i will always need your mother ".

"Thanks, Ai but you both will be quite alright without me. you should go back inside "

Ai slowly walked away she felt like it wasn't her place to say more or to pry her so she left but just then a faint whisper came from behind her and she heard as clear as day in a sad tone "I miss you ".

A tear rolled down Ai checked knowing full well who yuki meant, and why she was looking so pale and sad somehow her tone had a hint of loneliness in with the sadness freighting the urge to go back and hug her mother she headed towards zero wanting to tell him hoping he would be able to comfort yuki bring her smile back so she did just that who Ai didn't have to walk for long as zero was also headed their way as well. Zero looked Towards AI and then at yuki, that's all he needed to know so as he walked past zero put a comforting hand on Ai's shoulder for a brief moment and whsperd with a nod "it's okay ."
