April smiled at the elderly couple at the table.
"So that's two white coffees, a piece of chocolate cake and a piece of fruit loaf." April asked
"Yup that's right." The Lady replied
"Okay I will just get that for you." April before turning away and walking back to the kitchen.
She did the order quickly and rushed back out with the coffee and fancy pieces.
When she returned to the kitchen April stood infront of the electric fan.
In the kitchen it was 28 degrees Celsius which was not fun to work in. All April had to do to work up a sweat was crush digestives. That was it so April cherished her few minutes of cool air on her face.
But to ruin her moment of coolness a new customer appeared at the counter beside the kitchen.
"Excuse me." A voice said
April turned around quickly and noticed there a boy about her own age standing in front of her.
"Sorry, I didn't see you." April said blushing slightly.
She walked over to the counter.
The boy had midnight blue eyes. His dark chocolate brown hair effortlessly curly, his fringe fell into his eyes.
He slowly pushed the hair behind his ear and smiled
"Sorry, I didn't mean to take you away from your fan."
"Honestly it is fine, what can I get you?" She asked
"I don't really know but my friends over there," The boy said pointing over to one of the tables with two boys waving at me "they are betting over who can get your number first."
"So are you part of the bet aswell?" April asked curious to find out if he was interested in getting her number.
"No, I wasn't allowed to take part because my friends words not mine, I will end up crying because I am uncapable to get a girl's number." The boy explained.
"That is, your friends are kind of strange." April said
"Yup, they are." He agreed.
"So are you actually coming up here to order food because I normally go to the tables?" April explained
"Yeah, umm, can I get three pieces of chocolate cake and three hot chocolates with everything." The boy said "Also would I be able to get your number aswell."
"Well how about I get your cake and drinks and I will think about it?" April asked.
"That is better than nothing." He said and walked back to his table.
April made the hot chocolate, carefully piping the cream in a perfect swirl and a light sprinkle of cocoa powder.
She sliced the chocolate cake. One slice was slightly bigger than the other.
April picked up her phone which was sitting in one of the cupboard below the counter. She wrote her number and name neatly on the napkin which she placed beside the biggest slice of cake.
She took out the big chocolate cake first and placed it on front of the boy. Quickly she walked back for the other plates and sat them infront of the other boys.
"Enjoy your cake." April said with a smile.
"Actually, we were wondering if you could give us your number because you are really pretty." One of the other guys said
"If you haven't seen I have already given one of you my number but I think you might just need a few minutes to figure out who." April explained before walking back to the kitchen.
The boy had a giddy smile.
A few seconds later one of the other boys said
"What are you kidding me? but we had a plan and everything are you just ruined it."
April laughed. This was the one and only time she had been argued over by three guys. But she had to admit she didn't mind it.
When they were finished their cake and payed the boy came up to the counter again.
"Thank you for this," The boy said with a smile holding up the napkin. "You know you didn't have to give me it."
"Yeah but I wanted to see their faces." April admitted
"I don't actually know your name."
