~ YUJIN'S POV ~

What the hell was that about?

I stepped outside, the cool evening air brushing against my skin as I paused for a moment, closing my eyes to steady my breath. Chan's words kept replaying in my mind, along with the way he looked at me—like I was something he wanted but couldn't have. It was suffocating, overwhelming, and yet... a small part of me couldn't deny the way it made me feel.

Stop, tonight is about Taehyung.

As I walked toward the car, I spotted Taehyung leaning against it, dressed in a sleek black suit that made him look effortlessly handsome. He straightened up when he saw me, his eyes lighting up as they traveled over my figure, much softer and appreciative compared to the heated gaze Chan had given me earlier.

"Wow," he said, a small smile tugging at his lips as he opened the car door for me. "You look... beautiful."

I blushed, feeling a warmth spread through my chest as I smiled back. "Thanks, V. You're looking pretty good yourself."

He chuckled softly before glancing down at my dress again, his eyes gleaming with admiration.

The tension from earlier starting to melt away as I slid into the passenger seat. Taehyung closed the door behind me and walked around to get in.

As he started driving, we fell into an easy conversation, the kind we'd always had—light, playful, and comfortable. But every now and then, my mind would wander back to Chan and the rest of the group. V felt so unfamiliar compared to them.

"So," Taehyung said, breaking into my thoughts. "You're gonna love the place, it's by a river."

I smiled, feeling my heart flutter at how considerate he was being, he knew I loved the water. "That sounds perfect."

We arrived at the restaurant a little later, and true to his word, it was a cozy spot by the river, the lights reflecting off the water creating a beautiful atmosphere. Taehyung held the door open for me, ever the gentleman, and we were soon seated by the window with a perfect view of the river.

As we sat there, chatting and enjoying dinner, I couldn't help but notice how easy it was with him. No tension, no hidden feelings simmering under the surface. It was just... comfortable. And maybe that's what I needed right now.

Taehyung leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand as he gazed at me. "You seem a little distracted," he said with a soft smile. "Something on your mind?"

I blinked, snapping out of my thoughts. "Oh, no," I lied, forcing a smile. "Just... thinking about how nice this place is." It was partially true.

Taehyung nodded, seemingly satisfied with my answer. He reached across the table and gently took my hand, his touch warm and reassuring. "I'm really glad we got to spend time together tonight."

"Me too," I said softly, meaning it. It was nice to be with Taehyung. I wanted to fully immerse myself in the moment with him.

"How's everything going with Stray Kids? You guys seem super busy these days. You guys are planning a comeback soon right?"

I smiled, grateful for the shift in conversation. "Yeah, it's been hectic, but in a good way. We've been working on new stuff, so it's exciting. Everyone's been putting in a lot of effort."

"I bet. I see you all over my feed," he laughed, his eyes crinkling in that charming way. "I'm really proud of you, Yujin. You're doing amazing."

His words were genuine, and I felt a warm sense of pride. "Thank you, Taehyung." I squeezed his hand lightly, appreciating how supportive he always was."
