I crept along the corridor and heard the mumbling of my next victim. As I carefully edged the door open, I realised that there was security cameras everywhere. I would have been caught on at least 5 of them. But that didn't matter. All that mattered was whether or not the job was done. Whether or not I had killed Steven Okonawi.
I work for The Red Roses, which is one of the most advanced assassin agencies in the world of espionage. Steven Okonawi is a man with a lot of money - most of which he stole from the leader of our 'organisation'. Mr Read had grievances to take out with Steven. So that's why he put me to the job.
There he was sitting in his black leather recliner, sipping rosé wine. He had no idea what was coming to him.
I pulled out my sword giving it an experimental flourish. Then I leapt out of my hiding place, announcing my arrival.
" So, how you doing?" I asked quizzically.
" Who... who are you? " Steven looked terrified.
" Oh erm, I'm just a passer-by, who also happens to be an assassin!"
"So I guess you're going to kill me then?" he replied.
"Yeah!"
As I approached, he began quaking in his leather brogues. Holding my double- edged sword with two hands, I chortled and then beamed with pleasure. Finally I got to kill someone.
With a short laugh I sprang towards Steven's grand oak desk. Surprisingly, and amusingly, the tall, quite insecure man in front of me gave an incredibly girlish squeal. A whistling noise cut through the air as I swung my Schimitar at his neck. He let out another screech of terror and launched himself away from the desk, sliding across the floor.
He then stood up, looking a little shaken. Sighing, I ninja-rolled over the desk and stalked towards the supposed 'drug lord' that stood quivering against the wall.
"If you just stopped fighting, I'd make it so much less painful for you!" I informed Mr Okonawi shrugging. I paused, contemplating. "I mean it's not like I want to kill you! Wait... yes of course I do."
In the five or so seconds I paused for, the drug lord had reached under his chair and recovered a gun from beneath it. He raised his trembling hands, the gun aimed directly at my head. I rolled my eyes.
"You do realise you need to turn the safety off before you pull the trigger, don't you?"
"I know that!" He growled at me, "I'm not stupid!"
"I beg to differ." I retaliated, getting bored of him. I decided to put him out of his angst by making his death as quick as possible.
In the blink of an eye, I'd swung up my schimitar, cutting off both arms to the shoulder and twirling away from the bullet he'd just fired. In the same instant I had him in front of me and I'd plunged the knife, from my thigh strap, into his stubbled neck.
I felt a spray of blood splatter across my face and cringed at the thought of it getting in my hair.
"Okay you're having an incredibly long shower when you get in!" I thought as the Japanese man's life essence draining from his neck. I yanked the knife out and wiped it on his designer suit, sheathing both weapons when they were clean.
The thud of his body hitting the wooden floor sounded through the entire room as I turned to the door. With the mission complete I skipped towards it, stopping short when a teenage boy sauntered in.
I sprinted at him, grabbed his neck and pinned him to the wall. The coffee-to-go cup lid had fallen off and coffee had spilt everywhere. I seized my knife and placed it an inch away from his forehead.
"I think I got blood in my hair, does it show?" I asked. He violently shook his head. "Good." I said and then plunged the blade into his forehead.
As I was jogging to the exit, I went past a mirror. Suddenly I stopped in my tracks and went a few paces to find a horror staring straight at me. I was looking up and down the figure.
It was me!
"I've got so much blood in my hair and he said there was nothing there! That lying mother chucker!"
I was scanning myself when I noticed my cream suede boots. "A coffee stain? Curse that coffee boy!"
Scowling and muttering, I trundled out of the door. My mentor was stood out in the corridor waiting for me.
"It would have been nice if you were there." I said.
"But did you need me?" She replied in a bored tone, looking at the screen of her mobile.
I considered her question before answering "No," I said cheerfully "but it would have been nice for moral support."
My mentor's smooth grey eyes slid over me, assessing. After a few moments of silence, she scoffed, "Moral support."
*End Of Chapter One*
A/N: With thanks to Glafro for writing the scene where Steven gets killed. She's good at coming up with stuff like that. You know, cause she's sadistic.
I know it has taken me ages to publish this and it will take a long time to publish the next chapter (especially the death scenes) considering the amount of time it took me to write this chapter.
I aim for Chapter Two to be published before Chrimbo but I'll probably forget that I'm writing this story, so there are no promises that I will finish it in time.
Thanks for reading and I hope that you thought that it was quite good...
Don't forget to press that vote button. It'll be like a very (very) early Christmas present.
